SOURCE: Avic X1r will not read navi disks
I have had quite a few problems with copied discs not reading and it is usually the disc's but however in your case if you know the discs work on another unit then perhaps a later version of the discs were tested when the unit was repaired and therefore your earlier discs would not be recognised by the unit, and therefore your unit needs to be reset and i'm afraid this is not something you can do yourself, speak to northolt and see if this is the case.

SOURCE: Avic X1R Radio Only
hi there, i work as a bosche car technition, i have had the same problem with my own unit. it first started of with one or two buttons not working then eventurly the screen went blank. the touch screen still worked but no picture was displayed. most radio places will be able to fix this or you can return it to pioneer but they want in excess of 200 quid. the part in question cant be bought from pioneer directly unless you are a certificated pioneer dealer/ repairer. i managed to find the carbon flexi strip on ebay (original part) for 25 quid. if you are confident with a srew driver you can replace the part yourself. no soldering is required so no melting or ruining can be done. you doo need the screen in the out position but not uprite. beaware there are lots of tiny srews and bits so dont mix them up... any way good luck and good listening.
