Nokia phones are notorious for slow response time when recharging from a completely dead battery.

Remove battery.
Make sure there is good contact between all of the contact points.
Replace battery.
plug in charger.
wait for at least 5 min.
If recharge symbol does not appear in window, then one of these things has occurred:
1. Phone has internal damage or water damage. no way to fix without nokia service.
2. Battery is dead. Try a new battery
3. Charger is bad. Try a new/different car charger or home charger.
These chargers are very inexpensive on Craigs List, try to solve it before throwing away the phone. Good luck,
A former Nokia employee.

K700i NOT CHARGING

the mains charger may be dead or the charging connector broken, the tiny pins on the connector break easy, common fault on sony ericsson chargers, try using the usb cable if you have one with your pc, when you plug it in, select 'media transfer' and the fone should start charging, if it charges then fone is ok but mains charger is bad, if you cant get it to charge either way then battery may be worn out and needs replacing.

I have a problem with my mobile nokia n81 8gb charging problems. When i put the charger in my mobile it says charging but the battery doesnt go up and down like it use too also when i press the charger...

from your explanation, the problem is from your charger, it is either its making partial contact somewhere or if you have purchased another charger asides the one which originally came with the fone, then it might have been substandard. try using a different charger on your fone or/and your charger on a different fone, this should help you confirm where the problem is from

your phone's charger may be broken. the red light also indicates a dead battery or needs charge immediately. try using another usb charger to see if it works.

Low Battery, Connected car charger, now is dead

May be the battery won't have charge, keep 1 or 2 hrs continues charges, and if it is not working then you have to replace the battery set full.

Won't Charge- Is there anything I can do?

well i dont have any long term ansa but here is a short term one while you find a new charger.

Take the charger and dismantle the end that plugs into fone. you should have 2 wires a black & white or black & red. Leave the blobs of solder on the end of the wires as this helps. Leave the wall socket end of charger in tact.

Take your battery out of fone. As with a normal battery you will see a (+) and (-) sign on it. Attach the black or darkest wire to the negative (-) metal square on the battery and the white or lightest wire (maybe red) to the positive (+) metal square on the battery (after trial & error i found a clothes peg to be the best form of attaching it). Leave attached for 15 minutes and this will give you around an hours usage when you put the battery back in the fone. If you leave it overnight then it will be on all day.

Basically you are making the circuit without the fone which bypasses your pin problem. Any charger will work with any fone as the charging components are in the wall end. Just make sure the voltage is compatible ie, 5v fone charger replacing 5v charger etc. Although majority of chargers are 5v.

I know this works cos i did it to mine last nite as i needed to ansa my emails. Really simple but a little drastic like i said but if the pin connector is broke anyway wot you got to lose?? I am a girl so if i can do it anyone can lol!!

Only drawback is you cant use the fone while it is charging unless you have 2 batteries and you use one while the other charges which is what i am doing. In fact i might not buy a new charger lol, i dont need one now ive found this method works.

Happy charging!! Hope this helps! Gail-michelle
