IF YOU HAVE KEYED UP THE RADIO WITHOUT AN ANTENNA YOU PROBABLY BLEW OUT THE FINAL TRANSISTOR ON THE OUTPUT.

Get a SWR-PWR meter to put on the line between the radio and antenna to see what it is doing.

Testimonial: "Thanks. MIC WAS BAD"

Youll find the screeing and the black wire have seperated

the screening is audio ground the back wire is used for switching ground so what happens is the radio will try too key up but wont quite get there as the TX enable ends up keyed via the mic @ 600ohms so the radio wont key up fully just half way

the black and screen coppers are usualy connected together
if they get separated then the TX will work in a kind of way like you describe

perhaps your mic cable is faulty and has bad wires

FT-8000 stuck on transmit after mic switched

It sounds like you are using the wrong mic for the radio or the mic has been wired incorrectly or the mic has become faulty or the radio has become faulty. Unplug the mic and see if the radio receives and works correctly. You should be using a Yaesu model MH-36b or a MH-42B microphone.

I have a delta m2 desk mic need wiring code for my dx2517

White wire is RX or receive control.
Red wire is TX or transmit control.
Green wire is audio lead.
Bare wire is audio shield or common.
If for some reason your M2 has a different color code see the mic cable to M2 board connection.
From the tab side it is audio(green), TX (red), shield, RX ( white).

The ant light and the other light light up red when i key the kic

the tx/rx liight is green when your radio is recieving signals and turns red when you are sending signals. the ANT light is red when your SWR is too high (over 3)

1. turn the knob labeled swr cal all the way counter clockwise
2. set the rf swr cal switch to the CAL position
3 key up the mic and hold it while you rotate the swr cal knob until the needle reaches the swr cal postition
4. set the swr cal rf switch to the swr position
5. key up the mic while on chanel one (record the the number)
6. switch to chanel 40 key up the mic (record the number)
if the number on chanel one is lower than the number on chanel 40 then your antenna is too long.

Stand by light flashes red on powering up with remote and the green light flashes approx 15 or times before the screen illuminates.

thats pretty normal, it takes a good second or two to warm up and the display to turn on(at least0, you get the green flashes as you hold for on, 1 sec is a long time at times, lol, be patient, no problem with your tv!

Microphone

Hi,

If the radio receives OK and the TX red LED will not lit up when keying the mic, then it is a mic or mic cord or mic connector problem (or pin configuration). Internally to the mic, there is a switch for keying the PTT. This should be check down to the coiled cord to the connector.

If all of the above checks OK, then you would need to check the TX/RX regulator/switching circuitry.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
