TV turns off but standby still blinking - Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-36XBR800 36" TV

Seven blinks in sony sets denotes the High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k
and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown.
Either it power supply regulation section, ot its horizontal output section has a serious trouble. Both should be checked seriously. Never swith on you TV until this fault has been rectifed, as it may cause other components to be damaged. Normally, the secondary switching output voltage in Sony sets will be between 120 to 135VDC. One reason for this fault is, this voltage exceeds beyond this limit. Power supply regulator section is working properly, but regulation control is not. Main reason for this trouble is faulty electrolytic capacitors. replace most of the electrolytic capacitors on that section, there will be a few of them, upto 5 or 6 Nos; with new ones, and it wont cost too much. You must have some knoledge in eletronics and a concept of soldering. After replacing these, switch ON the TV and check whether it helps you. If not, horizontal output section, the heart section. of your TV has some serious fault, and you must have sound knoledge in electronics to go to it. If you have, inform me, I will assist you. If not, get it repaired by any experienced service technician. Never go to tat section without proper knoledg.
