If it displays a message saying "A bootable device has not been detected " Please check that the IDE Cable from the CD-ROM is connected Firmly to the IDE Header as displayed above and also check whether the ATA cable from the Hard Drive is connected to the Serial ATA Header Firmly.
"If you are using two optical drives be sure to check whether Primary Master and Slave are configured properly using the Jumper" If you are using one CD-ROM don't consider about this.

Bootable device has not been dectected

When the PC cannot see a boot file/disk on either thehard disk or floppy drive it gives an error message "No bootable device. Insert boot disk and press anykey" First thing, check to see if the is a floppy disk inthe floppy drive, if so removes this disk. If there was no disk in the floppy drive then it maybe a hard disk problem.
Check the BIOS to see if the hard disk is detected, if not open the case andre-seat the data cable on the hard drive and also where it connects to themotherboard disk controller.
If it still gives this error message and the BIOS does not detect this harddrive, then the hard drive is probably faulty.
A further check on the hard drive, remove the hard drive and connect it to anUSB hard drive adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port, if thiscomputer does not detect it as an external storage device then the hard driveis faulty.
To get the computer operating again, install a new hard drive in your computerand then install Windows on this hard drive plus the computer's devicedrivers and your programs.

Hai sir iam using in intel d945gcnl desktop is propleam (a bootable device has not been detected)wihch propleam in intel board

Do you have multiple hard drives in your system. In the BIOS select the first boot device and select the 2nd HDD as first boot device.

vinayak_nair_24.jpg

to get into the bios press del and then use cursor keys to highlight boot tab and then select first boot device as HDD. Use the hard drive boot priority menu to select appropriate HDD as first device to boot. This option is only valid if you have two or more hdd's else your OS is corrupt and you will have to reinstall windows. Even check if all the cables to your HDD are tight, you will have to open up the system , if the system was moved around the cables might have become loose and just have to pushed in well.
