I bought my husband a small lithium power driver cordless screwdriver with a charger. He threw away the instructions and it is not working. Does it need batteries to work, where do the batteries go, what kind of batteries do I need and where can I get a manual either written or on line.

How can get this cordless drill to work. someone threw the instructions away. it was charged over night, and it's still not working

It could have a bad battery or the charger could be bad you have to check both of them with a volt meter

DEWALT DW938 18VOLT CORDLESS SAWZALL can it use Lithium Batteries

As long as the voltage of the battery is the same as the tool, the tool won't mind if the power is coming from a NiCd or lithium battery. You do have to have a charger that works with lithium batteries to charge them up. Chargers that can charge lithium batteries can also charge NiCd and NMH batteies. NiCd chargers are not always programmed to detect when lithium batteries are full and may continue to charge them to the point of melting or starting on fire.

Charging question

Because it is Lithium Ion it is supposed to hold its charge for years.

So once it is charged what is the point of using electricity to keep it standing with a full charge in its cradle ?? (Does not compute)

My Bosch screwdriver sits on a shelf for months and has never failed to start when required.

If you are doing a lot of work then have the cradle handy and pop the drill on after a few operations and for 10 minutes before you put it away.

Once the full indicator comes on put it to bed ready for the next time it is needed

Recorded message plays in Spanish. Husband threw the manual away.

Way too easy :-)

When you were listening to messages you probably pressed the SKIP button for longer than 2 seconds. Try pressing it and holding it again and see what happens.

Here's the manual link: http://www.home-electronics.net/ge/pc/IB/25942GE3_IB.pdf
