Hi,
To my knowledge, on most (but not all) washing machines, lint/fluff are collected on the wash cycle and flushed down with the water during drain cycle.
Since your machine is a Maytag, it is different. On most Maytag washing machines, lint/fluff is collected in the center tube of the agitator. It wold be necessary to lift out said tube and thereafter clean it on a regular basis. Some other models have a lint filter near the top of the tub, which you need to slide out, clean off, and reinsert. If for some reason there is no lint/fluff filter in your machine, this
page shows how one can be made.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.
