This is because ot door interlock system - the door interlock is a device that is designed to give a time delay before the door of a washing machine can be opened.
If the door doesn't unlock at the end of the cycle at all (even after 10 min) then there could be a problem with the interlock or with the drain pump (water left in the machine). You can lean more about the most common washing machine faults here - https://www.justfixed.co.uk/washing-machine-problems/
I had the same problem. You must take out your clothes immediately and leave the door open after every wash to let the inside of the washer completely dry. I believe I read to run a cycle of bleach water and wipe down the inside of the door and interior with bleach/water mixture. Then let it dry. You then can start washing your clothes again, but you must be diligent about leaving the door open to air out between washings.Hope this works for you. I almost sold my machines shortly after I bought them because my clothes were always smelly after washing. Leaving the door open has worked for us.
Hi - i have requested further details on your machine, without any luck from your end.
This is what I think you have left the machine in a pause cycle where it wont spin & dry. You may not be aware of this but you have not replied as to the model of the machine I cannot tell you how to disable it.
Find your user manual for details/informations to disable it, otherwuse open the little door in the bottom left if there is one , pull the lever to open the door and turn it back on, see if it works,,
check the top of the cabinet after the unit has started to wash the water droplets is the key. if you see water droplets on the very top all over then the unit circulation pump is working. If that checks out then check the jet dry compartment. here is a trick.
open the compartment door, fill compartment until it cant hold anymore liquid, close compartment door, lower and raise the door 3 times, open compartment door check to see if you fill with more jet dry, repeat this process untill it cant take anymore.
what this does is removes the air out of the compartment. this will last for about 10-12 washes. last thing is to turn your faucet water on until it is the hottest then start your machine. use cascade soap and no tablets. when you use tabletrs with jet dry the machine over suds, the rinse aid compartment or dispenser is vidal to drying, cleaning spots and film. hope this helps.
Hoping to be of help after the spin dry wouldnt work on our hoover elite 1210.
It would do the wash cycle fine but as soon as it needed to drain, it wouldn't.
My handy man (Husband) is great at fixing things and opened the front panel by undoing the screws.
Near the motor on the bottom left, there is a wheel/fan looking thing.
(Turn the machine off first)
He tried to spin the wheel but it would only move clockwise and not anti-clockwise like it is supposed to.
So he gave the fan a few spins clockwise before giving it a gentle pull outwards in which it loosened the wheel and was able to move anticlockwise again.
We then turned the machine on and it started spinning and draining the machine.
This machine is a work horse and I refuse to get another. They don't make them like they used to!!
Mine has a leak and we use a drip tray underneath at the moment. So long as it works. I am happy.
Hope this helps someone else with the same problem.
