i have 3 soundcard installed in my computer (XP Pro SP2,Vista Enterprise,Ubuntu Linux) 1 built in and 2 USB.

built in I use for speaker, 1 USB I used for monitor to my DJ mixing software, 1 USB I used for telephone(VOIP)

For any computer there will be at least 4 usb ports. 2 at the front and other 2 at the back side of cpu. If any one is not recognizing then insert it in different usb port. If any of the port is not working then install the driver for your usb port. Download the usb driver from the below link.
