You can run the alignment program from either the control panel or the HP Image Zone software.
To run the alignment from the Control Panel do the following:
1) Load a plain sheet of unused paper into the printer.
2) Press Setup until Tools appears and then press OK.
3) Press the left arrow button until Align Print Cartridges appears, and then press OK. The printer prints an alignment sheet and aligns the cartridges.
4) Press OK.
If you want to use the HP Image Zone program to do the alignment run the program and follow the on-screen instructions.
In case you do not have your printer manual handy you can go to the HP website from this link and download a copy:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=390315&
If your printing still does not appear correctly after running the alignment program you can try to uninstall and re-install the cartridges. The printer should prompt you to run the alingment program again. If your printing still doesn't look right you should have your local HP shop take a look at the printer. There maybe either an electronic or physical problem with the printer. If your warranty period has expired you should get an estimate on the repair cost. With printers being as low priced as they are now a days it is quite often cheaper to replace the printer rather than repair it.
