My dryer was running and it just quit. It doesn't do anything.

Check the motor, it's sticking or already burned out

The coils on the gas assembly get IFFY with age. They work a little then get hot and quit. My Video

Igniter - The dryer's igniter is what ignites the gas that has entered through the gas valve. It will glow red, then when it reaches a certain temperature, it will trigger a thermostat that opens up the gas valve and that's when the dryer starts to heat the air. If the igniter has failed, the motor will still run but not produce any heat.

Check your door switch. This is usually the culprit for the no run condition. Here is a link to the part you need.

have you tried to turn the knob slightly at end of cycle to see if it would shut off? try that if it does shut off then replace your timer
