Jvc hdtv tv was on. all the sudden tv went off. i waited a minute and tried ti power on. it came on but blank sreen. no sound fan was running and continued to power right back off. red light continue blinking rapidly.

Its power supply may be faulty

You most definately have bad capacitors in the power supply. try and get it repaired as soon as possible, not an expensive repair that iv'e seen.

Heard back from Toshiba. They said to unplug the TV, wait at least 3 minutes, and then plug it back in. This should allow it to reset itself. Sounded too simple, but after doing just that the tv has worked fine for the last three days! Toshiba noted that if this didn't resolve the problem we should contact them to have a Toshiba Authorized service person come check out the tv. It worked for us, hopefully it'll work for you too. Hi , I have the same problem with my LT-42X688,so i called the service of my extended warranty provider . the TV technician just left and told me the motherboard is the problem. he said its the third one this week he has seen with the same symptoms. he ordered the motherboard and i've got to wait 5 to 7 work days before the part will be in . I will keep you posted when the guy will return.

if you are getting sound, then chances are its the back light.

Replaceing the back light will cost about $400 but who knows i may be wrong, you need to explain your situation a little more vividly :)

sounds like another crappy color wheel issue, just like my samsung hln617w.

sounds like it needs to have the vertical circuit rebuilt it killed itself from continous attempts to restart with shorted parts in it
