Need more info to solve your problem. Do they power on? What is your setup? What cables are you using to connect the monitors (TRS, RCA, XLR)? Did you adjust the input level?

They were left on for some time and now there is no sound coming out of them. Do they over heat and die?

If there was no signal going through them, they shoulldn't overheat. However, if while they were on the AC line had a power surge, it's possible it took them out. It's time for the repair shop to see what's up.

Check the input level. Sounds like the signal is being clipped.

One speaker stopped playing bass

Sound like either the crossover or the driver has blown or, if you're lucky there is a loose connection internally if you have only checked external connections.

I used my monitors at high volume for approximately 1 hour and they stopped working. One monitor has no volume and the other has very low minimum volume.

You may have blown a fuse in the amplifier. Refer to Appendix A: Service Info in this guide http://www.mackie.com/products/mr5/pdf/mr5_om.pdf under No Power section, and if the fuse it not blown, try some of the solutions under No Sound. Hope this helps!

I hooked up my Mackie MR5 Monitors to my MacBook Pro through an audio interface, I use it to record my band in the studio I use out of my basement. Except everytime I try to use the monitors they give me...

try hooking headphones to the output and see if the crackling is still there.

then, try it with the speakers, at a lower computer voume level and higher speaker volume level. perhaps the headphone output is too loud and distorting in the speaker inputs.

What type of fuse would you use for Mackie tweeter?

I would contact Mackie and see what they say. The MR5 is already protected internally by the built in amplifier circuitry as far as I know. They can be reached here:http://www.mackie.com/support/index.html

One of my pair of mackies has solid bass through higher volumes, but my other attenuates the bass and sounds like its blown past a moderate volume. It did this out of the box

If it is under warranty, make use of the warranty immediately.

If it is out of warranty it comes down to whether you are adept at electronics.

The cause can be a blown speaker, or something electronic.

The electronic cause would LIKELY be a problem with the input filter caps that cause the voltage to "collapse" under higher load OR a bad power amplifier transistor or chip.

In any case, test equipment will be required to solve the problem.

Mounting a Makie MR5 on a tripod speaker stand..

Hi there. Search "top hat". There are 2 different depths. Compare measurements to space available in and on the enclosure where you plan to install it. (bottom)
Thanks
