Printer keeps sayin toner low , even with a new toner

Your Ineo+ 250i printer's toner sensor sounds like it may be malfunctioning. The toner sensor is in charge of keeping track of the amount of toner in the cartridge and relaying that data to the printer's control board. Even though the cartridge is full, the printer may display a "toner low" error if the sensor is not working properly.
You might attempt the following steps to address the problem:
Restarting the printer Turn the printer off, leave it unplugged for a while, then plug it back in and turn it back on to try and reset it. This can occasionally fix any issues or bugs with the printer's memory.

Usually this is just the toner getting low on one side of the cartridge.

Easy way is to replaced the cartridge with a new one.

The cheap way is to take the toner cartridge out and gently shake from side to side and try to keep it level afterwards when you put it back in. This redistributes the toner so it is more or less even now. You may get a few hundred more pages of printing out of it or more if you are lucky.

Have you tried to unplug your printer and plug it back in, that will force the printer to re-check all its settings and it should notice that the toner is now full.

There is a toner sensor in this printer that shoots a beam of light through the toner cartridge. As long as the toner is full and blocks the light, it sees it as being full. If it were the sensor, it would tell you this for all the toners, though. The printer also calculates how much toner may have been used and gives warnings based on that. It could be that this isn't getting reset after you change toner. You can reset the toner gage by going into the reset menu and selecting "New xxxx cartridge" and changing it to YES.

Maybe the toner is low... According to the manual, a blinking red light:

• A minor error is occurring and
the printer is waiting for the error
to be cleared. When the problem
is cleared, the printer resumes
printing.
• The toner cartridge is low. Order
a new toner cartridge. You can
temporarily improve print quality
by redistributing the toner. See
page 8.3.
• The toner is totally exhausted.
Remove the old toner cartridge
and install a new one. See page
8.4.
• The toner cartridge reached the
end of its life.

You have to reset the drum count on the printer after you replace the drum. Call dell tech support they will not charge you for help resetting the drum even if you are not in warrenty.
