Try getting the TV menu on the screen. If you can't, it's probably the LCD panel or backlighting issues. If you look very closely sometimes you can see a dark image if it's backlighting issues.

If you can bring up the menu, but all inputs are black, then the problem is more towards the electronics. Usually computer VGA and HDMI inputs bypass a lot of electronics and may point you to a video switching issue in the TV. If this is all Greek, consider a trained service company. Choose a platinum servicer since they are Sony trained, certified and held to much higher standards than other authorized servicers. Sony expects them to make first attempt fix within 5 days of contacting Sony. Usually the right part is sent to the tech prior to them setting the repair appointment. Compare that with the others and you will see a clear difference.

Sony BRAVIA KDL-40V2500 audio not working

I would Google the model number carefully for "problems" "no sound" and usually this set will display some kind of error code===it may even have a hard reset to try===service manuals are available on the net/web to allow you to see how the sound circuit is set up etc.

Lcd is cracked on a kdl-40v2500 soney

hi, if your screen is cracked you will need a replacement screen this type of repair that if you call a service center they wont do becuase basically the screen is the most expensive part it may be more than the cost of the tv when new, theres only one way to do this and not spend a fortune and thats by buying a used tv same model that is not working or for repair, of course it needs to have a good screen, where at auction sites and surplus sites. you can replace the screen if you buy a used non functional at auction and exchange it or repair the other tv with your parts either that or get a new set, it is expensive to fix any other way. hope this helps, happy holidays.

Have a new Sony Bravia KDL-40W500 keeps turning off into standby mode with 8 flashes.

Hello,

There is some confusion on the model (KDL-40W500 vs. KDL-40V2500), so I will direct this toward the 40V2500.

On the KDL-40V2500, an 8X blink means the scan processer has gone bad, and the BU board needs to be replaced. If the problem is intermittent, the the AU board might be the problem, but if it all the time, bank on the BU.

A competent repair shop should be able to help you, or you can try calling Sony directly for assitance.

Hope this helps you...

Normal picture mode make the sharper picture quality but smaller screen apparance

If the broadcast is in 4:3 (square) then either you can have the black bars on the side, or the TV can stretch the image to fill the screen.
Nothing wrong with your set. The broadcast must be in 16:9 to fil the screen.
