Hello,
I have a "Home-fix" for you, you should watch this you tube video on how to repair a symptom such as yours even though it is a sanyo tv the fix is pretty much the same for your television and may save you oodles of money! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=purk_SyiT44
That sounds like a defective LCD panel tab, Sony's and Samsungs are notorious for this problem. Does the problem go away when the set warms up or when you tap the screen?
What you're describing is usually the result of an improperly seated connector. With the power disconnected, open the tv and locate any connectors between the LCD screen and the driver circuit board. Unplug them, and reconnect it assuring it's properly and firmly seated. Be careful when handling these cables as they tend to be quite fragile... take your time.
its called burn in and yes it can go away over time.
Be sure to not leave a static image on the screen (like a paused video) and leave it for an extended period of time.
playing video with high brightness and fast moving action can further help the problem go away.
I have a 46 inch , Sony XBR 4 tv . The past week there has colored vertical lines that appear on the screen for about 10 minutes . Then they go away . What is the problem and solution?
