Sounds like you could have an issue with the fuel delivery ie pump as when we open the clutch we allow more petrol to the engine so when closing it its not getting petrol or the right ammount to run effectively if unsure about maintenance would suggest taking back to place of purchase hope this helps

You need to adjust the carburator needle gas low(L) and hi(H). they have sometimes a color coded caps on it. you may need to remove it if at first wont run. if you continue to have problems let me have the complete model#. also make sure you have a fresh mixture of gas.

Then your only option is to take appart the carb. and cleaned or replace it. also please check if you have damage to the cylinder by removing the spark plug or muffler and inspecting the cylinder wall for scrapes. if that is the case buy a new one.

Hi,

Follow this adjustment procedure

http://www.ehow.com/how_7870683_adjust-carb-homelite-blower.html

If that does not correct the problem then run some Carb cleaner through it... you have dirt and gunk, varnish whatever in there...

Have you tried getting some Carb cleaner run through it???

A bit in the tank and then run it with the choke to keep it running...then let it set and then run some more...see if you can looses the dirt up... bttom line is that you are running too lean and the closing of the choke makes the air fule mixture work...

SOURCE: By echo blower will not run unless the choke is on

Hello,
My name is Dane and I am going to assist you in solving your problem.

Make sure the fuel is mixed correctly. Too much oil in the mix will cause problems.

If you are still having problems, you will need to adjust the high-speed mixture setting on your Carburetor jet. Turning the screw out just 1/2 turn or so should do the trick. It is not so hard to adjust the Carburetor, however you do need a special tool that is very hard to get your hands on, in order to adjust the jet screws. They don't make many engines with plain screw heads anymore. The newer Carburetors are factory set lean so they can pass emission standards. If you have a local dealer, they should adjust the mixture for a couple of bucks. Before you take it in to the shop, make sure you haven't left old fuel in it for a long period of time and gummed those jets up. Sometimes an engine just needs to run in order to clean the jets out. If this is the case, just replace the fuel and get it running and work it normal for a tank of fuel if you can.

Just a TIP: Always mix your fuel with an approved fuel stabilizer. Fuel begins to go bad after a few months and that's why many people have fuel problems in the spring.

I hope I've helped. If you found this reply useful, please leave me some THUMBS UP, if you feel I

SOURCE: My blower only runs about

It may be, doesn't take much to clog the ports in those little carburators.
I'd empty the tank and make sure my tank of gas isn't contaminated.
I had to remove my carb, disassemble it and soak the body in fresh gasoline for 10 minutes then blow it out. Now it runs better then the day I bought it

SOURCE: Blower only runs with full

it may simply need the high speed jet opening up a bit (2 screws near eachother on the carb and the high speed is furthest from the engine)
failing that it needs a carb kit.... this is a serviceable item changed regularly.

I have an older craftsman snow blower 10 hp. It starts ok with full choke, runs ok half choke, backfires with no choke-run position.

It's too lean; not enough fuel mixed with the air. Look for the main mixture screw--it should be a large screw with a spring under it on the carburetor. Run the engine until it's warm.

With the engine running, turn the screw outward (lefty-loosey) about 1/8 turn slowly and see if it improves. Slowly turn the screw back and forth until it runs best with the choke completely off. Then set it 1/8 turn richer (turn screw outward 1/8 turn) than the best position.

Reason for doing this: Conditions change, even the barometric pressure. Small engines run okay if they are a little rich but not if they are a little lean.

How do I start a weedeater fb25?

Press primer bulb 6 times
Move throttle lever to start position
Move choke lever to full choke position
Pull starter rope sharply until engine attempts to start, but no more than 5 pulls.
Move choke lever to half choke position. Pull starter rope sharply engine runs. If engine hasn't started after 5 pulls, repeat all steps above.
After warming up for 10 seconds, move choke lever to run position.

Homelite mighty lite 26bv gas Blower won't run full speed or only in Full Choke

Sounds like a lean condition. Rebuild carb, replace fuel lines and fuel filter and you should be ready to blow the leaves.

Ck and see if it has a choke. If it is on full choke, reduse choke after you put in on full run.

Blower will only run on full choke ryobi ry08578

They aren't designed to run with full choke on, the choke is for starting cold engines only, many times you can choke them pull the cord a few times and then turn the choke off or turn it down to start it. Then slowly reduce the choke until it runs fine on its own.

Snow blower is running sluggish with the choke in the on position

It sounds like you my need to rebuild and clean the carburator. Or you have an air leak between the carb and the cylinder.
