I have a MAYTAG legacy Series manine. That i just bought from a retailer. My machine is connected to a cold water tap. can i still get a hot water wash if i select a warm or hot cycle? Secondly, water drips from the hot water inlet when the machine is fulling via the hot water inlet. How can I stop that. N.B I do not have a hose connected to the hot water inlet Is it normal for the machine to make abrupt stops for about 30 seconds before draining and refilling with water? Is it normal for the machine to be noisy?

SOURCE: I have a MAYTAG legacy

hello bz... there can be no hot water wash or hot cycle without hooking up a hot water supply line. Also, you must plug that hot water inlet, the correct plug is available at most hardware stores. Finally, yes it is normal for the machine to stop before draining, as the transmission shifts. If the machine is very noisy, that is not normal. To reduce that noise you could put the machine on a piece of thick carpet to deaden the noise a bit. Joe

HOT and COLD blending

my last two washing machines, totally different brands and types, did the exact same thing. It must be a new way of setting them up, I don't understand either. I can't get straight hot water. My new one does seem hotter than the old one I had which was very distinctly hot then cold then hot then cold even on hot hot water.

Cold water stopped coming into machine. cleaned the screen and still would not work. switched hot and cold hoses and set temp. on hot. worked for one load, but now the water will only stay on for about 10...

Check the solenoids at the water inlet valve. They can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Test for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty solenoid and the water inlet valve assy will need to be replaced. I will attach a photo for reference. Hope this helped and best wishes.

From what you have said, you may have a bad solenoid in your water fill valve. it's the rubber piece under the debris screen. if you can get that out and replace it, you'll be golden.

Maytag Front Load Intellisense 6.5kg

washer may not be detecting water temp but water flow ..if you never use hot water may try hooking cold water to a Y-connector and then hooking to both hot and cold inlet valves ..however it is also possible washer is detecting inlet temps in which case you're out of luck ..i suspect the latter
