I have an ATF8000FS1 front loading washer. The door is hard to close and subsequently broke the door strike. If I lift up on the door it aligns the strike better with the latch. There appears to be no adjustment on the door to raise it. I also checked to make sure it was sitting level and it is. I can easily replace the strike, but it's expensive and it will surely break again do to the door alignment.

There is next to no adjustments so if the door dropped then the hinge must be bent . You may be able to very gently pull up on the door and re-align it but most likely you will have to replace the hinge.

ATF8000FS1 washer is stuck in pause. Any suggestions?

Hi friend, thanks for your inquiry!

If your washer continues to display an error code of "PAU" it could be an issue with your door lock but if the door strike is not sitting properly within the latch your washer will continue to provide the error code "PAU". Additionally, if your control panel is registering that the door is closed you may continue to experience the "PAU" code. I would recommend having a professional come and properly diagnosis your washer to prevent any unnecessary part purchases. I hope this is helpful. -OOS

Door will not lock

Hello Bob - From what you have described it sounds like the door strike is not aligning with the door lock or the washer possibly has a defective door switch. I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately and properly diagnose the unit.

The door on my machine won't shut?

Hello

You will need to adjust the dishwasher door latch to fix the door if it will not close. The door latch can come out of alignment from use. Adjusting the latch assembly is a straight forward process on most models of dishwashers. First, remove the securing fasteners for the inner door panel. It is a good idea not to remove the inner door panel completely, just enough that you can access the door latch assembly.

Turn the dishwasher circuit breaker off inside your home electrical panel. Open and close the door and watch where the strike plate makes contact with the door. The strike plate is usually on the front top center of the dishwasher. If the strike plate is out of alignment, it will hit the inside of the door.

Pull the dishwasher out of the counter enough that you can access the strike plate securing Torx screw. You may need to open your dishwasher door and remove the two screws that secure the dishwasher mounting bracket to the bottom of the counter with a Phillips-head screwdriver to pull the dishwasher away from the counter.

Loosen the Torx screw that secures the strike plate to the washer tub with a Torx driver. Adjust the strike plate so the plate will engage the door latch. Retighten the Torx screw and push the dishwasher back under the counter. Secure the brackets to the counter if your dishwasher uses retaining brackets.

Adjust Door Latch

Open the dishwasher door and remove the Torx screws securing the inner door panel to the outer door panel with a Torx driver. The retaining screws are usually around the side edge and top edge of the dishwasher door.

Lift the inner door panel enough that you can loosen the two securing bolts on the door latch with a wrench. You only need to loosen the bolts, not remove them.

Carefully raise the dishwasher door to align the door latch with the strike plate. Hold the door latch with your finger tips when you align the latch. Lower the door and tighten the door latch securing bolts.

Install the inner door panel retaining screws and tighten all screws with the Torx driver. Close the dishwasher door and turn on the circuit breaker.

The door on my fridgidaire atf8000fs1 sags so it doesn't shut correctly. I've had to order a new door striker since the last one broke off. How do I adjust it so it hangs correctly?

Frigidaire washer door sagging so strike and door lock not lining up correctly. After a period of time front load washer doors tend to start to drop below normal position. The glass in the front doors are very thick, heavy and only supported by plastic inner frame. This combined with continued opening and closing will over time make your front load door start to sage. Fortunately Frigidaire makes a door shim kit for this problem.

After you have ordered and received the shim kit part #137309800. Start with removing the three screws holding the door to the machine. Lay the door face down on a soft surface as to no scratch the front of the door and glass. Remove the screws securing the outer frame and with a very small flat screw driver shim it between the inner and outer panels. Make sure to note the position of the frame and glass. Next remove the inner plastic frame, you should have access to the hinge at this point. Install the shim kit according to the instructions that come with the kit. Reinstall the hinge, inner frame and screws. Install the door back onto the washer, your door strike and lock should line up in the correct position at this time.

Hi, I have a Speed Queen LTSA7AWN washer/dryer combo. It will not start hte cycle. After closing the door, the door light flashes.

This is a door lock error. The control is not seeing that the door was locked.
Try pushing the door closed where the door strike is. If this does not work you may nee to adjust the door strike.

Door sags and is out of alignment. Do I tighten screws?

If there are any screws right where the door connects then they shouldnt be loose. If you can lift the door up and then close it you probally just have a couple of screws loose LOL! If not then you might have broke the pin inside the door. Either way it should be fixed before you have water damage. Hope it helps let me know what happens. Thanks
