I am an Electronics Technician but have never worked on a Treadmill. Do you have any tips on removing the console and getting to the membrane keypad? Vision Fitness T9450 The buttons on the touch pad stick etc. This is probably a common problem as all the electronics I have ever dealt with that had membrane keypads always wore out after a period of time. From searching I found this part from parts supplier this looks like what I need. http://www.fitnessrepairparts.com/cart/ViewItem/52000440

T101 sound, but unable to enter weight

Hello this is Jamie from FitFix.ca. Depending on etc make and model it should like it's an issue with the console itself. Some units have what's called a button membrane that is under the fancy sticker you see on the top that shows the buttons, some go straight to the upper electronics. If your's has the membrane then you can try and use a hairdryer and gently massage the buttons while you heat it up, do not overheat. If that doesn't work then we would need the exact make model and serial # to see what part may be needed. Good Luck

Buttons on console do not work, except no. 2 speed button and +/- speed buttons

Here is a solution for those of you who have experienced recurring dead buttons on the console. For me, all buttons would function initially but after a few minutes of use (belt running), all buttons would stop functioning except speed buttons 5, 7 and 12. Switch off, unplug the treadmill and all button functions would come back on next power-up hours later.
The problem is that the electronics cannot handle the static electricity generated by the running belt motion. The static in your finger as you press the button penetrates the thin membrane switch and goes right into the electronics. It takes several hours turned off for the excess charge to dissipate and control to be restored.

1. Gently peel the button decal off for both sides (incline and speed), do not remove or pull on the flex circuit underneath. This is the membrane switch.

2. Use the decals (sticky side up) to trace the outline on paper and tin foil and carefully cut out the profiles.

3. Stick the paper in using looped or double sided tape, careful not to place tape over or near a button locations. I used white printer paper because it is not very thick. A layer too thick pay prevent the button from working.

4. Place tin foil cutout over the paper. The foil needs to be connected to earth ground (the 3rd pin on the power plug) and I don't trust the frame is properly grounded so I ran a wire from the foil in the console to a grounded screw near the power switch (where the plug wire ground connects). Make sure the treadmill is unplugged when you are working on it! The incline and speed side foil sheets are also connected with a wire.

5. Cover the foil layers with a layer of clear packing tape to protect the foil if you ever need to remove the button decals again.

6. Check function and if all is well, replace the button decals.

The paper increases the dielectric strength while the foil layer shunts the static charge of your fingers to ground. Since I made this improvement it has run perfectly! Good Luck

Replace control board

see this The most likely cause of the problem is a worn treadmill belt and deck.
Most of the time its caused from not lubricating between the treadmill belt and deck. This causes friction and the surfaces wear putting greater stress on the electronics. The treadmill is shutting down to protect the electronics. You should stop using the treadmill and have a technician check it.
If it sounds like metal rotating on metal then it could be roller bearings or motor bearings. Its best to have the treadmill work carried out by a technician in the workshop. Most of the time the bearings will have to be pressed out and the new ones pressed in

Some of the Vision Fitness t9450 treadmill incline and speed quick keys stopped working along with the manual speed and incline buttons

It sounds like you have a membrane issue. There are a number of different T9450 models and they all have slightly different consoles. You'll need your serial number to help pinpoint the parts you need. Your best bet is to go through the manufacturer (johnsonfit.com) and have them help you get the correct membrane and overlay.

Problems with my pro form 540 treadmill

So after reading the post from EricLaw, I wanted to clarify his solution because it also worked for me. When you open up the console, you will see the membrane (it actually says membrane inside very small) and the connecting wires to the membrane is actually a wide flat plastic with some stripes embedded in the clear plastic which can be easily detached from the membrane (looks like masking tape w/ stripes). These stripes are how the touch pad on the console talk to the membrane. I then took scissors and cut slits between each stripe (cutting only the clear plastic part of the plastic tape) so that I could leave a strip out of the membrane. I played around leaving different strips out until the right strip was left out. If I recall correctly, I left the 5th strip out and the key pad now works entirely EXCEPT the speed 1 and 4 which were the only keys working until I did this. Hope this helps.
