Open the little door in the bottom left hand corner, unscrew the black cap and drain the water out.
If this doesn't fix the problem, you may need a new Drain pump. Unplug the machine. Remove the filter recess by removing the one screw inside and using a putty knife at the left and / or right edge and popping it out. Pull the machine out about 18 inches and tip it back, resting it against the wall. Remove two more screws behind where the recess was holding the pump housing on. Reach under the machine and remove pump. There is a tab to depress under the pump housing to release it from the base. The pump motor is held onto the housing by three screws. Remove them and inspect the impeller to see if it has come off the shaft. If it has, pushing it back on will not solve the problem, as it will come off again. Install new drain pump and reassemble.

Check the end of your drain hose. I have to clean a mesh filter on the end of the hose that can sometimes cause draining problems. The drain filter / pump problems dont seem to exist with my machine so far, but the plugged drain hose does. I clean it out once a month. Hope it helps.

My LG washer is not draining, I have OE code. Is there way to test the drain pump with out having to fill the drum/washer with water?

Hi if you remove the pump again get a plug and wires example from a table lamp and attach 2 wires to the pump dont worry about polarity it will run both ways plug into the wall see if the pump runs out of the machine ( does this model have 2 pumps one could be the recirculation pump)

I have a wm2016cw washer and can't find the manual. It is giving me an OE msg. I know that means drain error but how do I fix it?

Here is the knowledge base information. http://lgknowledgebase.com/kb/index.php?View=entry&EntryID=6273

If you check all these, and still getting the error, you'll need to get the drain motor replaced. This is not a simple task, as the entire front of the unit must be removed to access the drain pump area.

Top must come off, control panel detached, door gasket outer ring needs to be removed, door lock also much be unplugged. The front panel of the unit also needs to be removed as well.

Getting an OE error code on WM2016CW washer. Have checked the hose for bends and emptied the drain filter? Still getting error message?

OE error is because the machine is slow to empty..Check and see if the machine is draining slowly or not at all..Sometimes coins get caught in the impeller itself...The type of pumps used on LG machines can fail because of muck and detritus getting behind the impeller back plate..Dismantle pump. Mark pump and body to help with re-assembly. If impeller comes out of motor body, you'll have to feplace the pump motor..Universal pump motors are generally ok.. Gravity drain to empty machine.. Good luck....Nomess

LG WM2016CW won't drain

The impeller may have come off the pump motor shaft. Generally, you will notice a louder sound when the pump runs if this happened.
Install new pump motor and reassemble. Clean washer tub with the longest, hottest cycle and three Ah-fresh tablets, Whirlaway hot tub cleaner, Smellywasher cleaner (smellywashercleaner.com) or Tide washer cleaner. Repeat. From now on, use only 1 tablespoon of HE laundry detergent per load (1/2 T if 2X concentrate) and only 1 teaspoon of fabric softener per load if you use it. (these machines use very little water, and thus require reduced amounts of additives to work properly)
