AFTER CALLING TECH SUPPORT I LEARNED THAT THE TELEVISION WAS STUCK IN DEMO MODE...REVIEWING ITS MENU OPTIONS COMPLETELY ON ITS OWN. THE TELEVISION IS PRETTY MUCH COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE TO THE REMOTE CONTROL EVEN AFTER PUTTING IN NEW BATTERIES AND RESETING THE DEVICE BY PRESSING ALL THE BUTTONS WHILE THE BATTS WERE NOT YET IN (AT THE SUGGESTION OF THE TECH SUPPORT GUY). I HAVE EVEN TRIED UNPLUGING THE TELEVISION FOR HOURS AT A TIME AND NOTHING CHANGES. THE OWNERS MANUAL SAYS TO PRESS RECALL, EXIT, OR POWER ON THE REMOTE BUT LIKE I SAID THE TELEVISION IS UNRESPONSIVE TO THE REMOTE. IT ALSO MENTIONED PRESSING RECALL ON THE TV SET BUT I DON'T SEE A RECALL BUTTON. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
I had the same problem with my TV, This is the way i fixed the problem i took a hammer and banged on the menu button a few times and know the tv works great!!!. Little weird huh:)
I had the same problem...was told to unplug the TV for one minute, this resets it. Within an hour the menu started again. Then I was told to UNPLUG the TV for 4 hours...this worked and menu screen hasn't come up since! Try it!

My Toshiba started doing the same thing today. Any suggestions?
My TV recently starting havin the same issues. I have tried everything. I recently emailed Toshiba's customer service box for advice. If they resopnd with anything valuable I will post their suggestions. In the mean time, can someone give any new advice besides get a new TV? Thanks!
My tv is a Toshiba 32A33 or 32A43. It is stuck on demo mode and I have tried to stop it but it is going on 4 weeks now.Sometimes it will stop on it's own, but not for more than a few minutes.I have tried new batteries, I have unplugged it for hours at a time, I have gone into menu and demo mode and pressed "stop". It is not responsive to the remote menu or the TV menu. My television is a 2003 Toshiba 32A33 or 32A43.Why are so many people having problems with this??? I don't want to pay for a new TV just yet. I am hoping someone knows how to solve this problem. ??
Same thing here. The television is about 200 lbs. (huge). Can't ship it out anywhere at a reasonable price. Anyone have any answers?
