Bdp s360 will play old dvd. bluray disk unkown disk-will not play

I just had this problem on a BDP-N460. I had just moved to a new house and now using HDMI instead of componet, I also tried to do a firmware upgrade when I didn't have internet connection to by Bluray player.

Called Sony and they said memeory was correcupted and it required repair.

As a last resort I downloaded the latest firmware from sony onto my computer and burned it to CD-R (even though I was already at the latest version). I popped the disk in and almost immediatly it said I was already updated. After that all was working without issue.

Not sure what happened or what caused it but its working now.

Since this was also available in Europe and USA update with USA firmware should do it:

Firmware Sony BDP-S360

Head's up, you might lose regional play for Europe

Could be as simple as a fingerprint or smudge.Give the disk a good wipe with a cloth like the ones for cleaning spectacles and retry.

Sir you press stop button one time then its play with resume if you stop twice then its start with binging

2338 worked for my uverse remote bdp-s360

If you bought it in USA or Canada, it is region 1 for DVDs and region A for Bluray. Look at the back of the unit, region written there.
