There are two ways to connect to the internet there is Wireless or Wired connection here is how to do both:WIRELESS (WIFI):

SOURCE: Ps3 security code

The security code, that is called network key, is stored inside the router.
Check your router manual, it will tell you how to connect to the router using Internet Explorer.
You put router IP number on Internet explorer bar and open router control panel, then you go into wireless settings, and there you find the key.

PS3 and Netgear WGR614 V7 Router

Basically the PS3 wireless settings needs to be configures with the Netgear wireless router settings.
To test if the modem is connects to the Internet, connect a computer into the modem, if it works then the modem is configured correctly. If it doesn't work, then contact your ISP and get them to test your modem connection.

Recently unhooked my PS3 and now connected but having internet problems

Hi

First turn your router off for one minute and then back on again to see if the problem resolves.

If not you will need to go through your internet settings again to ensure they are correct.

For a wired connection see link

For a wireless connection see this link

Disconetion errors on my ps3

If you're using a router, you could be having compatibility issues between the router and your PS3. When I first got my PS3, I had the exact same problem--it simply wouldn't stay connected to the Internet, no matter what I did. Then I changed to a different router, and the problem was fixed.
