This is my problem:
(Canon Pixma 3000) -5 flashes amber means the print head is not installed properly (error code 1401) or the EEPROM data of the print head is faulty (error code 1403 or 1405).
Make sure the contacts on the printhead are clean, re-install and try again. If this fails a new printhead may be required. You may be able to re-initialize the EEPROM by entering the service mode
Question: how can I enter the "service mode"? Then what shall I do?

The print head is not installed [1401], or it is not properly installed (Print head temperature sensor error [1403] / Faulty EEPROM data of the print head [1405]).
If you wish to get more details about this; visit the site linked here; after an hour.
This is consistent with any of error codes 1401, 1403 and 1405. It indicates a problem with the print head.

The print head is not installed [1401], or it is not properly installed (EEPROM data of the print head is faulty) [1403 / 1405].
Install the print head properly, and close the access cover.
Or, with the print head installed, turn the printer off and on.
