1. Look for an Fn (Function) key in the lower left hand corner of the keyboard.
2. Now look for a picture of a speaker on the F keys or number keys on the top of the keyboard. You should see three keys with a speaker on them. One of the keys will mute while one key will raise the volume and another key will lower the volume.
3. Press the Fn key while pressing on of these other keys to change the volume.

Different laptops use different key shortcuts. For example, my netbook uses Fn + F7 to mute while other laptops will use a different keyboard shortcut.

1. There should be a volume control button on your laptop's keyboard that has a plus and minus sign on it.

2. There should be a volume control on the task bar, the bar near the time and date on the screen. Try pressing the arrow that expands this bar.

3. Or search in windows explorer for "volume" and it should come up.

If it is not an actual button on the laptop there should be a Function key, (Fn) This is usually located near the windows key on the left hand side next to Ctrl.

Holding this down there should be two keys on the top row, the F row that have same coloured keys as the Fn key, one should have a symbol of a speaker and a minus, or other equivilant symbols and one should have a symbol of a +. these will control your volume increasing and decreasing it
You can also access the volume control via the toolbar in the bottom right hand of the desktop, a small symbol of a speaker can be . clicked on to open the volume mixer.

As well as changing volume the Fn key combinations can also be used to change brightness and switch between monitors and zoom ratios.

Look for the volume control buttons in a few different places. First, you may have a speaker icon on some keys on your keyboard. In this case, you would probably need to hold down a "Fn" or Function key to press them. They may be above the numbers or on your arrow keys.
You may also look on the front bottom if it's a Toshiba. It would be a scroll wheel.

Hi,

Look on the left and right arrow keys, if there is a speaker symbol on them then you can raise or lower the volume by holding the Fn (function key) which is to the left of the space bar and tapping the left or right arrows.

If there are no symbols on the left/right arrow keys then look for a volume wheel on the left side of the laptop near the front.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Im hooking a dvd pllayer and audio receiver wthout remote what optons do press on

If you don't have the remote for your DVD player and audio receiver, you can try to use the physical buttons on the device itself to control its functions. Here are some steps you can try:
  1. DVD Player:
  • Locate the power button on the DVD player and press it to turn it on.
  • Use the "Open/Close" button to load a DVD.
  • The "Play/Pause," "Stop," "Fast Forward," and "Rewind" buttons can be used to control playback.
  • To skip chapters or adjust the volume, you may need to use the "Next Chapter" and "Previous Chapter" buttons or the volume control buttons on your audio receiver.
  1. Audio Receiver:
  • Locate the power button on the audio receiver and press it to turn it on.
  • Use the source selection buttons to switch between the different inputs (e.g. DVD, TV, etc.).
  • The volume control buttons can be used to adjust the volume.
Note that the specific buttons and their functions may vary depending on the make and model of your equipment. If you are unable to find the buttons or need further assistance, you can consult the user manual for your specific device.

Volume buttons on my toshiba laptop is not working

There are other ways to adjust the volume.

Right click on the megaphone located at the bottom right near the time. You can adjust the volume there.

Look on your keyboard and normally you can Press and Hold the FN function key located at the lower left portion of the keyboard then hit one of the 3 keys with the megaphone that adjusts the volume (1 key increases the volume, 1 key decreases the volume and 1 key mutes the volume).

You can adjust the volume in the Control Panel's audio or sound properties. Click Start/Control Panel and look for Sound or Audio.

Sony walkman NWZ-E344 volume control button wont turn up! I pressing the plus button on the volume control located on the side of the mp3 player but it will do nothing but the volume low button with minus...

Possible that the volume UP button switch within the player is damaged and so it is possible that this can be rectified only if the switch contacts are in order or that the switch be replaced.

I have located the volume control button on my monitor but every time i pres it it decreases the volume. I need to Increase the volume not decrease it. Help

You've failed to mention the make/model of your monitor. There should not be a single button for volume control, as volume control is either up or down. Try the button above the one you've been pushing.

Everything lights up and is working, but i have no sound

Do you accidentally have it muted? The Mute button, located on PASSPORT's top panel and SmartCord. Have you turned up the volume on it? Volume Control (VOL) To increase or decrease the audio volume, press and hold the (+) or (-) volume control buttons located on the top case. A sample alert tone will be generated, along with a corresponding bar-graph on the display. Once you have reached your desired volume level, simply release the button. This level will be stored in memory. In Preferences Auto Volume is the default. This feature will increase the audio alert level automatically when the ambient noise in the vehicle is high. Good luck.

HOW DO I TURN DOWN THE VOLUME? I DOTN SEE THE VOLUME BUTTON

This monitor has no volume. The volume is controlled by the computer connected to the monitor, and not controlling the monitor itself.

To regulate volume on computer, click on the small audio icon near to the clock, or locate the audio settings icon in control panel.
