My washer has an error message "uL", the washer is full of clothes and water; but won't do anything...what should I try?

Try it with a few clothes placed along the outer walls of the drum. It has a sensor that will try to balance the load before going up to full speed but if there are no clothes or weight in the drum, it won’t start.

UL means UnLevel. To fix , open door of washer, and redistribute the clothing/laundry in the machine, and press start. It should start spinning again. Sometimes , if you have a overly heavy load of laundry above will not work. What I have done is, put my weight on the machine (upper body laying on the top) until the machine has extracted enough water so the machine will be balanced.

Unbalanced load? Don't over stuff the washer. The load sensing moves the drum back and forth at the start. If it can't balance the load it will err.

You can short the door switch and it will stay activated BUT the DANGER is that it will be available to be opened at any time specially after the water has loaded and if you accidentally open the water and clothes might flow out.

Hi jbrundage1. I believe you have a UL error code on the washer. It means that the sensors in the washer are sensing the unit is unbalanced. When the washer is empty, set it to a spin or rinse and spin setting. Run the washer through the cycle empty, as it will help to remove any excess water in the tub. Also, make sure the washer is level, as it is balanced on springs, and that could be throwing the sensors off. I hope these suggestions prove helpful. Is there a lot of water inside like more than normal? That is a pressure sensor error. Check pressure hose inside the washer. It is a small hose about 5/16" diameter connected to the tub and pressure switch. If there's a hole in it the air scape and the pressure switch will not turn off the water. The control board detects the problem and stop will show error code.

UL stands for an unbalance load where one side the tub is heavier than the other side.

when the code is displayed, it automatically unlocks the lid so you can go in and reposition the clothes to try and balance it. once you are done, simply press the start button again and it should continue again where it left off. if you push the stop button, it will drain the water and assume the cycle is complete.

unplugging it and replugging it in should allow you to do other wash cycles. press power and you should be able to select wash cycles.

if you still have no control, make sure you still have power at the outlet by plugging in a lamp and turning it on. if no power, find the GFI outlet that controls that outlet and reset it. if not on a GFI outlet, then check the circuit breaker panel for a popped breaker. reset it and power should now be restored.

try to unplug and plug back after 30 seconds.
