Sharp AL-1641CS All-In-One Digital Copier / Printer / Scanner Copier Logo

Used ADF on Sharp AL1631 digital copier and got a E7-02 error code. Unit has run maybe 500 copies in it's lifetime (4 years). I tried simulations...01-01...and 64-01 the scanner moves all the way and back...and has light...some red item shows on the 64-01 simulation. Sometimes the scanner lights but does not move. Beats me. did 61-03...the motor runs..not sure what else to look for. Someone said...'If you noticed, it only goes into the E7-04 when using the adf. Automatic Document feeder. Your problem is the white reference sheet on the rear frame of the ****. Put some white tape on the under side of the glass where that white reference sheet is, and test it. If this works you should replace the sheet. Hope this helps." I'm not sure how to do this. I feel with the low usage of the copier it is nothing major... I had trouble with codes one time before. I do believe it was the same code. THANKS>>>A BUNCH. I bought the sharp 1631 on advice of a copier repair tech.

    Tried the 14

  • Anonymous Mar 03, 2011

The problem resolved itself. Just like it did the last time.
Left the copier alone for a day. Booted it back up and it works fine.

History of attempted fix. I tried all the dx codes. resetting...and it still showed an error.
I was using the automatic document feeder...and got the dreaded E 7 flash..and when you hit number of copies it goes to 02. Waited for one or two days...left it on

Sharp AL Series Copier Drum Light Cartridge Counter Reset

To reset the drum light on just about any Sharp AL series copier press the following key's in sequence and as quickly as possible (with 4 seconds for the first 4 keys)
Press "C" then the far left key (exposure mode) then the "C" key then the far left again.
So in other words C, far left, C, far left
Some model's use 2 other initial codes, so you may need to use one of these 2 alternate codes to get your display to go blank. The rest of the procedure is the same.
Alternate codes are: #, * , C, * or pound,star,C,star and also
#, Interupt, C, Interupt
If done correctly the display should go blank.
Then key in 24 as if you were going to make 24 copies.
Now press the "print" button
Now key in 7 as if you were making 7 copies
Now press the print button again.
You should now be getting flashing zero's on the display.
Turn the machine off then on again and your drum light should be gone!
You can usually reset this counter at least once to get twice the life out of your drum unit.
This works in the following models:
Sharp AL1000, Sharp AL1010, Sharp AL1020, Sharp AL1041, Sharp AL1200, Sharp AL1215, Sharp AL1220, Sharp AL1250, Sharp AL1251, Sharp AL1340, Sharp AL1451, Sharp AL1520, Sharp AL1521, Sharp AL1530CS, Sharp AL1540CS, Sharp AL1551, Sharp AL1551CS, Sharp AL1631, Sharp AL1641CS, Sharp AL1651, Sharp AL1651CS, Sharp AL1655CS, Sharp AL1661, Sharp AL1661CS

Sharp Al1631 unit won't copy; just spits out blank papers

check for empty toner... and if the laser lamp is dim or out... the laser lamp is the lamp that comes on when you copy from the glass table or through the document feeder

What cld cause sharp 5316 indicating an open thermistor

NO! 500 copies cannot spoil a copier. It should last for 100s of thousands of copies.Try opening and closing the front door. That will sometimes reset some error codes
