I have 2 units of MC50, I connect to my WiFi , when I try to connect it any website the website comes in, and then the browser vanish. One of the device freeze when I search for a site to connect. Do I need updated software or browser? These devices have windows mobile 2003 SE. My email [email protected]

    Thanks I am in this field for many years, normally updating OS helps but in this case there are some more issues. I have not updated OS yet but now devices are able to go online but when battery is low it looses data and order taking application I have on it. First I thought it is back up battery but I noticed that date and time stays updated even if I remove battery, which indicates backup battery are okay. Now is there any tweek or small aplication which can keep order taking aplication and data secure. Something like total recall in Psion Teklogix devices?

Based on the Information you have provided we can assume that either,

  1. You need to update your firmware and/or browser through the included update software
  2. Both units have been damaged in different ways, most likely the memory as browsers on pocket PCs are notorious for freezing like this when they run out of memory.
dIf updating the software on your phones does not work you will have to bring them in to a specialist to hto see which of the internal parts has been damaged.

Internet connections can fail at any point from service provider to your iPad. Just being connected to a wifi network doesn't necessarily mean you still have full internet access. Your modem could be frozen and your wifi router would still seem to be fully functional. Try opening your ipad's web browser and bringing up a couple websites. If you can not get any websites loaded, try troubleshooting your wifi. But if they do load, then yes, you are indeed connected to the internet, and I would recommend restarting the iPad and trying again.

Ekse: I guess you are not there but I think I can solve this problem and hopefully you will see my comments at some point Read more Ekse: First you should try performing a normal reset Ekse: there is the small reset button on the back of the unit. perform the normal reset and see if the problem persists Ekse: if the problem persists back up any data from the phone to your computer, and then perform a hard reset, Howl down the power and right scan buttons, then press and release the reset, and then let go of the power and right scan buttons. Ekse: the hard reset wipes the handheld and returns it to factory defaults, you will be online after the hard reset. then just restore your data from your desktop computer and your good to go. All MC50s are equipped with an scanner, if you would read out the Full Product number (like MC5040-XXXXXXXXX) of your device. Then can you check which kind of scnner is built in. The Software is usually preinstalled in the /Application folder.

I have a Symbol mc50 which will not power up. The battery has a full charge.
Given that the MC50 has long been EOL, my suggestion would be to scrap your unit and replace it with a Janam XM66 - closest thing in terms of size/weight but faster performance, more rugged, better scanning. In the end, you'll spend less money. Good luck!

MC50 Internet Access Issue
Go to Start > Settings> Connections tab.

click on connections icon and select advanced tab.

Click on select networks.

Ensure that both drop down menus are set to my isp rather than my isp and my work network.

This should get you up on the web.
