In order to connect to internet using Nokia 5130c, you need to download the internet settings from your Service provider. After that select Menu > Web > Home; or in the standby mode, press and hold 0. You can now browse using your phone.
I just checked the specs on your phone. It looks like your phone does not have the capability to access the Internet through PAM (Phone As Modem). As such, you cannot connect your computer to the Internet by using your phone - which is also called 'Tethering'. (If this is your question.)
There are many other phones which you can use to tether your phone to your PC to surf the Internet. However, only a few cellular providers allow this. The ones that do severely limit both the bandwidth (speed) and the amount of monthly data usage when tethering.
If you do decide to tether I STRONGLY advise you to use the New Google Chrome Browser on your PC when you surf the Web. It's much faster (which you'll need due to the decreased bandwidth).
When you look for a phone you can use to tether, (like the Samsung Jack SGH-i637 for example) look to make sure it has an Internet sharing option in it's installed programs. (I use my Samsung Jack when I tether my laptop to the Internet when I travel.) And, I use Google Chrome as my browser when I do.
The Alias 2 can, in fact, be used as an external modem to connect
your computer to the Internet. To do this, the phone must plug into the
computer via USB. The USB data cable specific for the phone is
purchased separately and can be found at most any cellular phone store and eBay. Because USB is a powered connection, anytime the phone is
plugged into the computer for use as a modem, it will also remain
charging, so you don't have to worry about battery life while online.
In addition to the cable, you must subscribe to a specific service
through your cellular provider in order to use the Alias 2 as a modem.
This plan will be a "tethering" plan and will have a separate charge
each month to use it, similar to a cell phone's data plan. By signing up
for this feature, your phone will be able to dial into the data network
and utilize the Internet connection as a modem, allowing any connected
computer to surf the Internet. Once this feature has been activated on
your account the option will become available on the phone itself to
enable tethering.
At this point, you should be able to turn on
tethering, connect the phone to your computer via USB cable and select
the phone on your computer as an Internet connection source.
It
is important to note, however, that the Alias 2 uses a different and
slightly older system on the 3G cellular network. Because of this, using
the phone as an external modem will produce a slightly slower Internet
connection than a traditional modem or even a newer phone would.
However, as a backup solution for Internet connectivity or a travel
solution, the Alias 2 will work just fine as a modem for your computer
or laptop.
On your modem or modem router combine, there is a reset button on the back. Then the modem will reboot and more than likely you have to enter in your username and password from your isp to get the modem conntect back up.
Have you previously received the settings from your mobile network provider - usually in the format of a text message. If not speak to your network provider and request these features are enabled on your phone. They will send you a text message which you normally have to save (all instructions specific for your network) will be in the text message.
For using Nokia 3230 as USB modem you need Nokia PC Suite and DKU-2 cable.
Download Nokia PC Suite from here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Mobile-Phone-Tools/Nokia/Nokia-PC-Suite.shtml
1. Install Nokia PC Suite 2. Run PC Suite 3. Connect the phone to PC with DKU-2 cable 4. Wait for a while, you will see drivers are installing. 5. After driver installation your phone is connected to PC Suite. 6. Now click "connect to the internet button", a new window will open 7. Go to settings, next and go to "select your network operator from the list" and select your exact operator there 8. And click finish
Now your is connected to internet.
If you don't have the cable you can also connect the phone to PC via IrDa or Bluetooth if your phone has those connecting devices.
