A temporary solution would be to use a paperclip to eject it; usually, any disk drive has a little hole that a paperclip can be stuck into which forces it to eject.
If this was a PC, then I would agree that sticking a paperclip into the hole does open the drawer. However, this is not a PC, but rather a DVD Recorder-Player that is attached to the TV and stereo. I have looked the unit over and can not see any recessed button to open the drawer nor any hole into which to push a paperclip to open the tray. I even followed the following suggestion provided by Toshiba's help desk. To take the unit in and out of Disc Lock, follow these steps.
Turn on player, make sure disc is stopped. Push these buttons in sequence.
Setup, subtitle, number 3, Audio button, then 0. This too fails to do anything. I have tried powering the unit down for a length of time but upon powering it back on, it remains the same and won't respond to either the remote's eject button nor the eject button on the face of the unit.
Then the motor may be dead, or there is firmware corruption.
It baffles me that there is no hole; I have never seen a product without one.
If you can, flash new firmware to the device.

Just next to the eject button on the actual recorder there should be a tiny pinhole. If you use a small paperclip and insert it, then push, you should be able to manually eject the DVD. Hope this helps!

If this was a PC with a CD-DVD drive, then I would agree that inserting a paperclip into the provided hole, does open the drawer. However, this isn't a unit attached to a PC, but rather a Recorder-Player attached to a TV and stereo, which doesn't have such a hole. I have looked the unit over and can not see any recessed button to push, any hole into which to push a paperclip, etc. I have tried powering it completely down and waiting. Then powering it on again. I even attempted following these steps provided by the manufacturers help desk. Turn on player, make sure disc is stopped. Push these buttons in sequence.
Setup, subtitle, number 3, Audio button, then 0. However, this has no affect either.
