Nikon D80 Green Dashes

I have had my Nikon for a year an a half and until today have had no problems. Now, my pictures seem okay on the camera but once transferred to my computer a line of green dashes is appearing in the pictures. I know it is not my computer as past photos are all okay. Do you have any idea what this might be?

Hi, allow me to suggest using another lens to see if you still see the dark patches in the top corners. If not it is the lens, if so it is the camera. Either way it sounds as though something is maladjusted. Call Nikon digital 1-800-645-6689.

Nikon D80 Dark Viewfinder and Slow Shutter Speed

At first it sounds like a faulty aperture blade that is stuck after your first press. However you mentioned that this happened in other lenses as well. Seems to me that there is a problem with your camera (e.g. mirror lockup problem or something else). Pls have it looked at by Nikon

Nikon D80. It worked fine until recently (maybe after I took pictures during whale-watching in a heavy rain and camera got wet). Now the view in the viewfinder is kind of greyish and blurry. Focus area...

Seems like your problem on greyish/blurry viewfinder is caused by the camera getting water logged. Get your cam cleaned by Nikon.

The flashing red light usually happens if you have this indicator set in the camera. This may not necessarily be an error.. just a setting that you have put in place in your menu.

I have a Nikon D80 that I inherited about a year ago. Not exactly sure what I am doing but all has been fine until today. when I press the menu button to view pics, nothing happens. Am wondering if I have...

To view the pics on a D80, you do not click on the Menu button. Instead, you should click on the green button with a triangle shape pointing to the right. That is how you can review your pics.

To move between pics after clicking the button, press the left/right button or move your main dial clockwise/counter-clockwise

To close your preview session, just click on the same button with the triangle.

D80 kit 18/135 won't make photos 'F- -' error

Unmount the lens and clean both the camera and lens contacts (the metal strips that connect body with lens) using a pencil eraser. Take care not to let any debris fall into the camera. Mount the lens and try again.
