Re: AKAI 27"LCD SN:60683669 Have HDMI connect o
Universal remote controls (like the one for your comcast cable box in which it allows you to control other devices) have "the most popular" IR codes programmed inside of it. When you type in the numbers "10812,10702, etc" you are telling the remote to use that particular IR code within its "database"
The key thing to know is that universal remotes do not have every code, just the most popular. If you have tried all of the codes listed in the manual for you model TV there's not much you can do.
- Try searching for a code. Some brand names, such as "Akai" may have other manufacturers parts inside of it, Searching usually is done by going through certain key-presses on the remote to try all of the codes available.
- Buy another Universal remote, not all remotes are created equal as some have mode IR codes built in than others, if you have an odd brand TV, it may be more difficult to come across one that works.
- Buy a learning universal remote, although usually more expensive these remotes will allow you to "learn" the IR codes from your old remote to the universal remote.
I hope this helps.
