I'm having the exact same problem. An hour ago I was using my phone fine, and then it randomly shut off and turning it on again I have no touch function, while the volume and power are fine.
I've done everything recommended, much like you and having no luck :/
This Camera has an CCD issue. It seems that the CCD of the Camera is gone bad. However, you may try resetting the Camera to the factory settings. If the issue persists, try power resetting the Camera. To power reset, remove the battery of the Camera and press and hold the power button for 30 seconds and reinsert the battery after one minute and check the operation. If the issue still persists, the service is required.
A trouble shoting setp you can try is attatching an external display and seeing if that works.
Also try the function F5 key combo. I think that is the ASUS mapping to switch display output.
did you drop it?, most likely this occurs of people drop their cameras and the inside connection dislocates. simple solution is to take it apart and fix any loose connection on the lcd and put it bak together. if that doesn't solve it, order a new lcd for it, unless if it's lesss of a hastle getting a new camera
The problem you are describing is a problem with one of the chips in the camera that controls image processing. It seems to have failed and needs to be replaced. Following are the instructions to send your camera to Olympus for service.
Olympus will charge a flat rate repair fee for this product if beyond the one year factory warranty or the warranty is voided. The cost is $139.85 plus your local sales tax. This covers parts and labor, factory cleaning and diagnostic check, 6 month warranty and the cost of shipping the product back to you is all included in that price.
OK, I FOUND ONE SOLUTION FOR YOU. I LOCATED A USED LCD, IN EXCELLENT CONDITION ON EBAY FOR $16.50. IT IS ITEM # 290273128417 FROM DIGITAL CAMERA PARTS. THE PART IS A SIMPLE PLUG IN TYPE REPAIR, USER REPLACEABLE. I DID NOT FIND ANY OTHER SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEM. I ALSO DID NOT FIND ANY OTHER CASES OTHER THAN ONES WHERE THE CAMERA HAD BEEN DROPPED. THE REPLACEMENT PART SEEMS TO BE THE CHEAPEST WAY TO GO AND IS A LOT CHEAPER THAN SENDING YOUR CAMERA TO A REPAIR SHOP. THAT WOULD PROBABLY BE CLOSER TO $100.00. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO VIEW THIS ITEM AND CONTACT THE SELLER BY GOING TO EBAY AND ENTERING THE ITEM NUMBER AND IT SHOULD SHOW THE PART AND THE SELLER INFO. IF YOU NEED MORE HELP REPLY TO: ARCLIGHT1217
This is a CCD sensor problem ( see enclosed image of one taken out of a Cannon camera with similar specs to yours ). Contact Fuji agent as this is repaired under warranty .
Camera is designed with one cirucit board to control most functions. The camera probably has a damaged component or dead CCD chip. There is no economical solution but replace the whole camera because the part is not available to replace it.
