The re-chargeable battery in my M1063 Kodak Easyshare camera went completely flat, because I forgot to check the battery level. When I recharged the battery, the date now shows January 2008 instead of the current date, so all recently taken photos have the wrong date on them. I have checked the help menu and read the manual, but no instructions on how to correct the date.

Press MENU, use left/right to select Setup (the wrench), use up/down to select "Date&Time".

It's in the "Customizing Your Camera" section of the manual.

What battery number fits in my kodak easyshare m1063 i bought a KLIC-7001 AND IT DOES NOT FIT.

Hello, Elsie -

The user manual for the Kodak EasyShare M1063 camera states it takes a Kodak Li-Ion rechargeable digital camera battery, KLIC 7001.

See the user manual (PDF document) here:
http://resources.kodak.com/support/pdf/en/manuals/urg00868/M1063_MD1063_MX1063_UG_GLB_en.pdf

Page 1, Step 2 even has an illustration of the battery and the direction in which to install it.

If the battery still does not fit, I suggest you visit a nearby store which sells cameras and camera equipment and ask one of the individuals working there for assistance with the battery and camera. (Take the camera and battery with you.)

Best wishes.

Easyshare M1063 Digital Camera We received as Christmas present. Went to use it and it shuts off as soon as we turn it on.

This is normally a sign of weak/worn out batteries, and it's not uncommon for a camera to come with bad batteries. Make sure that your batteries are fresh/fully charged (HINT: you might try them in another device to make sure that they're good) and that your charger is working properly. Corrosion shouldn't be a problem on a new camera, but check the battery contacts inside the camera to make sure that they're clean. If you still can't get the camera working I suggest that you contact Kodak customer service via the Kodak.com web site or return the camera to the point of purchase.

My Kodak Easyshare M1063 won't turn on

Try cleaning the contacts from the battery and the battery compartment of the camera. I had the same problem and this fixed it, it seems to be a common problem.

Lens comes out, then retracts after charging.

If this camera has a rechargeable battery in it You Will Have to Get a new battery for it(Your Description indicates a Bad Battery Cell). If it uses AA Rechargeable Batteries they will Need to Be Replaced.
