I damaged my C140 camera socket probably by trying to put the wrong plug in, most likely too expensive to repair so be careful.
Your camera requires a "U8" type USB cable to connect between the standard USB port on your computer and the U8 jack on the camera.
A "U8" style USB cable & jack.
The U8 USB is similar in appearance to the USB "Mini" or USB "A" style jack. But will not mate to any other jack besides the U8 style. A typical USB Mini or "A" is shown below for comparison.
The camera shipped with the correct cable, but you probably didn;t notice there was a difference between it and other USB Mini cables - and simply grabbed the wrong one.
I hope this helps & good luck! Please rate my reply - thank you.
Here's where you plug it in: http://tinyurl.com/6y3f88b

The USB cable plugs in right underneath where the memory card goes.

For this type of mini USB connection, you need the correct type of cable.
It looks like this:

These cables are very common, and not too expensive.
I would suggest taking the camera with you to a computer store, of FutureShop etc and tell them you need a mini USB cable for your camera.
While facing the front of the camera, there is a little door on the right side. The USB slot or port is inside the door at the bottom.
