You need to set the APN settings. Go to Settings->Wireless & Networks->Mobile Networks->Access Point Names, click the menu and "New APN" Please try the settings below:
Name: Globe Internet APN: http.globe.com.ph APN Type: default
Note: No need to set the other fields while creating the new APN.
Select the newly created APN. To connect to the internet, tap on "Mobile Network". It will then connect using the newly created APN.
This works on my HTC Wildfire. Hope this helps.

Connect your 3g mobile broadband to an xbox360!

Have you ever wonder if you could connect your 3G mobile broadband modem to your xbox360? Well i have done it and it works fine.

What you will need to do is enable network sharing in your laptop/pc

I am using a vista laptop and orange mobile boradband, and this is how i done it!

First of all connect your 3G modem to your laptop/pc as you normaly would. Now get an ethernet cable and plug this into your laptops ethernet port and then into the back of your xbox's ethernet port.

Click on start> connect to> Then you will see "open network and sharing center" Click that. In the next window you will find all networks connected to your laptop/pc. You will see one below your normal internet connection called unidentified network. Click "view staus" Now in this window click and go to properties. now in this window click on the network tab at the top of the window. While now in this window click on enable network sharing via this device. Now go to your xbox360 and try to connect to Xbox live if at the first atempt it did not work test your connection via xbox as it will ask you to do this anyways. You should now be eable to connect to xbox live using your 3G modem.

Hope this helps!

There is a slot for inserting SIM card under the battery on my inspiron 15r n5010. I want to know how to set up drivers/firmware and software to set up internet access via 3G network using a sim inserted...

The SIM card holder is there to support an OPTIONAL 3G wireless broadband card: it is not a standard feature and setup will depend on the brand of internal 3G broadband card that is installed.

Compatible internal 3G mini-card may be quite expensive and using an external device (such as Pocket Wifi which is a 'MIFI' device which can conveniently be connected to your PC/Laptop via a secure Wifi connection) might be a better alternative.

Hope it helps.

How to turn on 3G on my mobile phone

Good Day,
With your problem, 3G settings comes from your network provider. Even if you are in postpaid(with a plan) or prepaid plans. You may want to call up with your network provider and ask for 3g settings for your phone. The Network provider would then activate and send (like an SMS) 3g settings to your phone. It commonly comes free of charge. Depending on network providers.
You then just view and then save the settings afterwards on your phone, Restart the phone and there you now have a 3G enabled phone.
Hope this helps you, thank you for using Fixya.

What is 3G?

Hi there. 3G is the network your phone is on. Your carrier (like Orange, or AT&T) provides the 3G network for your phone to connect to. What 3G means is that you have a signal from your phone with an active voice and data connection. 3G is faster than the old EDGE network, but slower than the most current 4G networks. Basically, as long as you have the 3G logo on your phone (with a capital G) you have access to the internet and applications that need data to function will work. I hope that helps! Alex

If you're too lazy to manually tinker with the settings, however, you could opt to text SET to 211 and follow the instructions. It'll cost you, though, and you'll need to key in a PIN (1234).
Once you've entered the values stated above, you'll need to activate them. To do this, simply text MMS ON and 3G ON to 333.

Can you surf the web on an Apple iPhone without a Wi-Fi connection?

There are two nation-wide cell networks that allow you to browse the internet. The EDGE network (for original iPhone) and the 3G network (3G is faster, but not as widespread and can only be accessed through the iPhone 3G ). iPhone monthly plans include unlimited use of the internet, without using up your calling minutes.

If you can take advantage of a nearby wireless hub, you'll have much better speed than when you're on a cell-phone data network... but even without wireless, you can still browse, email, work and play via the EDGE or 3G cell-phone network.

The 3g network is supposed to automatically configure the right settings for ya.
