My sony kv-36fs13 picture is very red. I tried adjusting the hue without success. I am getting the little red light on the front of the tv blinking five times. Any ideas?

Hello, Sony TV's has a self diagnosis function, this is explains the blinking light. in your case 5 blinks is that you have bad lamp :( so the lamp needs to be replaced new. normally tv lamp has lifespan from 3000-5000 hours.
The redness in picture can happen because of the bad lamp, and also due to other faults
For example There is a color IC that controls the RGB(red green blue) range,like in your case problems in this IC can cause higher voltage to red, green or blue and result unbalance RGB.
This will keep on increasing redness of the picture. you need to repair :)

Open the back cover of your TV (unplug the unit) using a soldering Iron,resolder all the components at the CRT socket .the small square board attached to the tail of picture tube That's it! good luck and please dont forget to rate I need it to keep going...
