charging process of a laptop will produce some heating underneath the laptop, the connector will gain some of that heat, and also if the connector is next to the CPU exhaust vent it will definitely gains more heat. its is designed to work that way
if you understand my point and if you think this not the case,
damage to the laptop can cause short circuit or lose connections but this also can happen after years of usage (lose connection can happen in the power connector due to wear out of laptop power socket),
this will generate heat and this is a very dangerous condition. You need immediate checkup of the entire laptop.
Clean the charger jack and the base with a surgical spirit or any other contact cleaning solvent. Your problem will be solved.
