So you have no screne on, but the powerbutton is orange or the Caps lock?
if its the power button, that indicates a motherboard problem, and with a laptop thats a bit more than tricky and costly to fix.
if the Caps lock / Num lock thats orange - it can be a number of things - if its blinking, it usually can be the RAM that is unseated, or in some cases the hard drive...
if it is the ram, turn over the laptop, and usually in the center, is a cover with what looks like a square with lines adjacent all way round. The cover looks like this - http://www.laptop-guts.co.uk/images/DELL1520_RAMCOVER.jpg
unscrew this when the laptop is off and battery removed. The Ram is the small chip inside -http://www.daileyint.com/hmdpc/laptop/memory_5.jpg
ensure that the RAM is securly pushed in. On either side of the RAM chip is a silver arm, that when you pull away from the Chip, releses the chip. You can remove the hole thing and seat it securely.
Give this a shot, ONLY IF YOU FEEL CONFIDENT, and try to re-boot.
failing this, i suspect a motherboard issue
