The DLP chip is failing in your machine and will have to be replaced. Samsung use to cover this problem under their "white dot warranty" but I have not dealt with samsung in a while. You can call 1-800-samsung to find ou if it is still covered.

White dots when Panasonic plasma TV turns on disappear after warm up.

White spots or dots showing up on your TV's screen could be the result of a bad or damaged processor or due to some overheating occurring the summer time or cold weather temperatures during the winter time. TVs can be affected by electricity surges or spikes as electricity supplies vary throughout the year. Or power outages and brown outs and black out can also cause spots to be on the TV screen too.

Little white spots appearing. Started with one now have 8. They look like little stars. TV is only 2-years old

most likely a problem with the optical engine. that tv is a DLP and it uses a DMD device that is made by texas instruments that has millions of tiny mirrors on the face that move independantly and the white spots are going to be stuck mirrors that are not moving. suggest calling mitsubishi customer support for possible repair accomodation. that repair depending on the labor would be around $1500.00 total parts cost is around $1100.00. mitsubishi customer support 1-800-332-2119

Spotty tv

DLP/mirror chip is going bad. A common problem on Sammy TVs after 2-3 years. Chip is user replaceable (try samsungparts.com or ebay) for about $150-200. Sammy was (last year) repairing the DLP White Spot problem for free. You MUST talk to ECR (executive customer service) to even think about getting that consideration--forget the standard CS people. Don't know if they are still covering this out of warranty in 2010.

I also have the white spots problem with my Samsung 46" DLP. My set is 2 1/2 years old, and was fine until a couple weeks ago, when 1 then 2 white spots appeared. Presently there are 10 spots and rising....

The DMD chip is failing. The little mirrors on it are sticking in the on position therefore always reflecting the white light from the lamp. The part number you will need is 4719-001981 and is available from the Samsung parts website. I have included a link to directly purchase the part from them. Please take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks...
