Hello, I have a Sony Bravia KDL-46EX400 and after an incident the HDMI ports doesn't work anymore. I have checked the other ports (D-Sub / AV / Component) and they work OK, even the USB can reproduce 1080p content. One curious thing is that although the HDMI ports are not showing any image (or sound), the TV recognizes the port in which is connected the Playstation 3. The incident, in case you need to know it was caused by a contact between the Antenna in and the TV cable. The TV cable was never connected to the TV before, due to a system incompatibility with PAL-N signals. The case is that they get in contact accidentally and that did cause a few sparks in that area, after that, the TV starts with this problem of not recognizing any HDMI signals. I made it work the first day by unplugged it and plugged it back, but it only work that time. I can replace by myself any of the boards inside, but I don't know if this problem is caused by the A board itself or it could be other thing. Well, any suggestion about where I could check for probable failures are welcome. I don't have warrantee for this TV now, and there is no official service around (at least not closer than 100 kilometers), that's why I'm asking for your help. Thanks

There will be a damaged interface IC on the input board. It may be worth taking a look and ordering one if you are competant with desoldering etc or just order a complete input board.
Hope that helps.

Either the HDM firmware or the circuit board will be faulty. Connect it with an other known good HDMI cable, and make sure that the fault is not with the connecting cable.

Sony Bravia KDL-60EX700 BAL Board / Flashing Green Amber

It sounds to be a firmware trouble. Will be best to contact the authorized service center for Sony, rather than trying to do it by yourself, as it is a very skilled work, need both concentration and previous experience. google.com/+GopakumarGopalan

Sony bravia lcd won't power on after lightning strike

I am sure the tv is shot from the surge but you can check a few things. I would take the tv apart and test the power supply first. Look for obvious burn damage throughout the boards. If there is a blackened one (prob video board) then you can try to replace that. Don't worry about taking this apart and breaking it further. In this case it can only get better for you.

Hi how to connect hp pavilion dv2000 to sony bravia KDL-40s2010 using the HDMI cable

Hello,

To connect your hp pavilion to your television, it is best done using the VGA cable, but if you want to use the HDMI cable, all you have to do is to connect it to its port on the laptop, then you plug in the HDMI cable to the television then you select the AV mode and you will be able to view the display of your laptop on your television.

Take care and good luck

Hdmi port stopped working on sony bravia KDL-32L4000, when I connect my ps3 or direct tv trhough hdmi cables I will just get a blank screen that will say no signal.

I have a Sony Bravia model KDL-46s5100 that had the same problem. All HDMI ports stopped working. I don't know why this works but unplug the TV for about 30 sec, then plug it back in and hold down the power button on the tv for 10 seconds. Like I said I don't know why this works but it worked for me. Good luck.
