I have an HP ID5220N. The power light keeps blinking 8 slow and 3 fast...we have tried the firmware update and that has not worked either. We have replaced the bulb three times but this is different. You can hear the fan running when turned on but no picture.

If the power light is blinking continuously, it may indicate a firmware issue or hardware failure. Here are some steps that you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

1. Reset the router: Press and hold the reset button on the back of the router for at least 10 seconds. This will reset the router to its default factory settings.
2. Check the power supply: Make sure the power supply is working correctly. If it's not, try using a different power supply.
3. Check the cables: Make sure all cables are securely connected to the router and the modem.
4. Check for firmware updates: Check the manufacturer's website for any available firmware updates. If there are updates available, follow the instructions to update the firmware.

I have the same problem after doing a firmware update. I did figure out the slow blinking power light means it is in recovery mode and you need to load firmware using the "recovery tool" from Asus' website. I tried loading the newest firmware, the same firmware I had before the problem and the original firmware (all found on Asus' site), but nothing worked.
Did you ever find an answer?

Try powering down by the power button if the firmware completed, then powering back up. If this don't work then try hard reset by unpluging the player then while holding the power button in plug back in and continue to hold poer button until it powers up.

you need to use a usb memory stick less than one gig or it wont update. once you do update the problem should be fixed

Yes. The Yellow LED blinking 3 times is a normal boot-up, but if it keeps doing it -- it needs the firmware "update" (which is more like a reload because it got corrupted.) The problem is, no one talks about how to do that. (there is a PDF and firmware on toshiba's website, but it lacks some crucial details.)

My friend gave me his 42HL167 after this problem started after a power event during a storm and I managed to fix it by reloading the firmware.

Once I figured out some of the facts, it was a breeze...

There are actually some certain meaning on the red light and green light showing different information to user. The summaries are:
1) Green On, Red Off = Printer Ready.
2) Green Fast-Flashing, Red Fast-Flashing = Printer warm up.
3) Green Fast-Flashing, Red Off = Printer off-line.
4) Green Slow-Flashing, Red Off = Processing Data.
5) Green Off, Red On = Cover Opened, Toner Empty or Developer Unit / Drum unit missing.
6) Green Off, Red Fast-Flashing = Paper Jam or waiting for jam reset.
7) Green Off, Red Slow-Flashing = Paper Empty or Paper tray is not inserted.
8) Green Off, Red Off = Printer power is off.
9) Green Very-Slow-Flashing, Red Off = Printer in sleep mode.
10) Green (any condition above), Red Slow-Flashing = Toner low or paper empty.

So what is your printer condition? Better know what is going on your printer so can solve the problem.

I'm having the same issues with my phillips flat panel. I downloaded the firmware update from phillips and that helped...but only once. I'm back to the same issue this morning. But you might try this download...it may work for you.
