Is there a lint filter on a hoover electra 540 washing machine

have you done a clean ,hoover have this built in you need to do every so often the filter could be clogged do a clean don't put anything in when your doing this ,how old is it

The filter is in the agitator. Remove the agitator cap, and you will find it down there. The filter is pretty much useless. Even though you might get some lint in the filter, if it wasn't there the lint would go down the drain. This machine has a neutral drain feature where the lint gets pumped out with the rinse water before the bowl turns, so preventing the lint from being stirred up nd put through the clothes. Hi just read your posting.It should be in the center of the agitator.Pull the center out and there should be a lint bag attached to it.Unfortunately they do not stop much lint from getting on the clothes.Hope this helps and please reply if you need more help.

You can give them the diametre (inner/outer), length, you can of course get it, substitutes, at your local shop also.

l spoke to a repairman and he told me that it is probably a soap build up from only using cold water.....he suggested using sugar soap and hot water and let it soak for a few hours and then let it finish a cycle...and surprise surprise it worked, the lint trap is now working and the smell has gone
