Let the temp. rise. Try keeping the camera in a place warmer than 60F but no hotter than 120F. Hope that helps.

What size dvd 's are used to burn a movie from my Acer aspire 5517? I tried to burn a dvd and cd once and was unable.

The process is rather simple once you get the hang of it. Many people use various conversion software programs to convert their movie file to prepare them for a DVD. Although in the beginning it is complicated but after a couple of stabs at it. You will be burning movies.
The size normally would be 4.7 Gig standard DVD-R you can use RW if you plan to rewrite over the movie later. It will hold a single movie or approx: 4-5 depending on size if the files are not converted. You can convert the movie files using Winavi this is what I use. or you can try to find any free burning software program out there. Winavi for me was the simplest to process it is a approx: 3 step process.
You will be burning the Video from the file once converted. The audio is included during the burning process. All you need is one DVD-R place in the burner. Then open the conversion software and open the video file and convert and burn that is about it. For higher graphics quality it will take more of the disk space for less or normal it will take approx half the disk that way you can fit two movies on one disk basically. So the process is converting the movie to be prepared for the DVD to work on standard players.
Check out Winavi this is what I would suggest maybe someone else knows a free software conversion program you can use. John

MY PC has sony DVD-ROM DDU1615 that I can't record my videos onto a dvd

you cant burn a disk with a dvd rom
you will need both a dvd rw unit and a dvd rw disk to burn any video to a disk if you have both of these the burning program might not support video burning or you might not have selected the right option there are lots of free burning software programs that can burn videos to a disk you might have to burn it as an ISO image
http://www.majorgeeks.com/BurnAware_Free_d5839.html
BurnAware Free is one of the most popular free CD, DVD, Blu-ray Disc burning software available for Windows.
Using this program you can easily create and burn Audio and MP3 CD, Data and DVD-Video disc, ISO and Cue Image,
erase or format rewritable disc, copy your CD or DVD to ISO image.

New computer, never used a burner before. how to use the dvd burner?

Purchase or download free burning software. There is a number of different softwares to choose for your DVD burning needs. SwiftDisc Burning Wizard Premium, Xilisoft DVD Creator and Nero 9 come with a free trial. The purchasing price is less than $100, as of 2009. Ashampoo Burning Studio Free and BurnAware Free are available if you do not want to buy the software.

  • 2 Insert a DVD into the burner. The DVD-RWs offer the option of erasing the DVD or adding more application to the disk. Do not use this type of disk for playing movies in a regular DVD player or music in a stereo. DVD-R disks are non-erasable. Take extra care when burning on this type of disk, any errors or accidentally opening the drive will cause the disk to stop functioning.
  • 3 Run your burning software. When you insert the disk, a window will appear. Press the "X" in the top right corner. Click on the "Start Menu" icon. Go to "Programs" then click on the burning application folder. You will have different options depending on the program. Typically, you will have the choice of burning data, videos or music.

I WAS able to make the dvd but it will on play on my laptop not on any other computers nor on any dvd devices

Check the settings on your burning software. You need to "finalize" the disks that you are burning. The session (the disk burning time) has to be finalized, otherwise, it will only play on your computer (as you have already discovered). The setting has to be made prior to burning the disk and once it is set, it will stay that way by default. You don't need to set it every time.

The disks you already burned can be copied to a new disk, but just make sure to finalize them for them to play on other devices. I have over 1600 DVD's and I ran into the same problem when I started burning DVD's. Frustrating to say the least, but Fixya.com and other sites weren't around back when I started, so I wasted quite a few disks back in the day. Now they're coasters for our drinks. LOL
I hope this helps and good luck!

I am trying to copy the DVD I finalized in the Canan DC210 to ano

Simple way if you have two dvd trays in your computer: just pop in the mini-disk in one tray and load a DVD+r, or DVD-r recordable disk in the tray of the DVD burner. Use the burning software that is available on your computer to "copy the disk".Other way:Just popin your mini-dvd into your computer and drag and copy the file folder (video_ts folder)onto your hard drive. Now, use dvd burning software that supports DVD images. I use the free ImgBurn program from: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/ImgBurn. (Remember, use "build mode" within ImgBurn to create the "DVD image" that the program will burn to disk.Disregard all the terminology if you don't understand it. ImgBurn is very simple to use. I mention "DVD image" because the conventional type of disk burning (copying documents, photos, etc. on disk) will just create a "data disk" with files on it. Video files burned in this way will play on computers but not on all stand alone DVD players.

Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG9 movie downloading and DVD burning

I always recommend having a version of your users manual on your computer, because it is so much easier to search through the manual quickly to find what you are looking for.

You can find a digital version of the users manual for the Sanyo CG9 here, and you will also find the free software for downloading videos to your computer and watching them there.

Once your videos are on your computer, you can burn a data disc without any commercial software. Some DIVX or XVID dvd players will play these data disks and you can watch your movies like that. An .MP4 data DVD will hold much more video than a standard DVD video disk because it squeezes it much tighter. You can play your .mp4 videos through a PS3 using a data dvd or a thumbdrive.

If you want to convert your mp4 videos to a standard dvd that will play in any dvd player, you will need commercial conversion software such as ULead MovieFactory or Nero Vision. MovieFactory was included with some sanyo camcorders, but if you have lost your disk, they do not allow you to download it from their website.

    I hope that helps!

How to download video from camera

connecting the Vista to your computer via the supplied USB cable the LCD menu will change from 'Turn On Video' to 'Turn On USB'. Select this option on the menu.
Most burning software packages have a "verification" option. This will considerably lengthen the burning session but is safer because the software will verify that the data on your hard disk corresponds to that on the CD/DVD. Burning errors are not uncommon, especially if you have been using other applications during the burning process.
