I need manual book . MY DVD I CAN PLAY ONLY BUT I CAN'T RECORD. THE DVD DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE DISC, 'DISC INVALID'. WHEN THE DVD HAS A BLANC DISC INSTALLED THE UNIT STATES 'PREPARING DISC' AFTER A MIN OF 'READING' MESSAGE APPEARS SAYING INVALID DISC AND THE DISC IS EJECTED.

Unfortunately, the EWR20V5 does not handle DVD +R or DVD +RW discs for recording. It can play back some of these discs, when recorded and finalized on another recording device. However, it may not recognize some DVD +R/+RW discs at all. This recorder recognizes all DVD -R/-RW discs. This is a common manufacturing design for DVD/VCR recorders.

Clarion NX501 Owner Manual Installation Manualit looks like this is mainly a dvd player,it does play disks with mp3's and wma files but,not compact disc files,read the manual,try a recorded cd with mp3s,

Always first unplug for a minute and make sure the discs are VERY CLEAN. Sometimes my player/recorders give an error message 2-3 times but eventually are able to load the disc.

go to control panel, and use the restore utility. Put the last day that you know was working good, and click, and ready.
However you must pass the anti-virus+antimalware.

Yes,read ur manual intructional book how to hook up the tv, VCR/DVD sides togother so it all link up.Play a VCR tape one side and record a DVD disc another side.

Do you mean it won't format/initialize the disc? Alternative possible problem, when you put in a disc, does it not recognize that a blank disc is in the unit? Only DVD-RAM discs need formatting. DVD-RW discs need to be initialized. DVD-R disc do not need either formatting or initializing. (This unit does not write to DVD+R or DVD+RW discs.)

In the case of DVD-RW discs that can't be initialized. Check if this has already been done (or if you need to unfinalize the disc).

If the new disc is not being recognized as a blank disc, the recorder may not be recognizing the disc (dirt, scratches or manufacturing issue) or the recorder is not focusing on the disc properly. In the first case, clean the disc or try a different type of disc (Samsung claims that their discs will be most compatible). In the second case, the unit may need service.

Read the owner's manual for your DVD player. Some brands (cheaper ones) are particular on the type of DVD to use (i.e. + or - DVD..). Most will NOT play a rewriteable (DVD-RW) disc.
I had a COLBY (WalMart) and it would only read DVD+R discs...

There are three things you can do that will eventually give you a working solution. Depending on the level of problem. Start with 1 progress to 3 until it works.
1. Use a cleaning disc. (one that use an alcohol based liquid)
2. If the cleaning disc does not solve it, you can use an ear bud, with some iso-propyl alcohol to clean the DVD lens on the drive directly. (you have to open the player and the drive)
3. The guaranteed working solution is to replace the DVD drive inside the player. This is quite a simple process, as most players use a standard IDE DVD-ROM or DVD writer.
You simply remove the face plate, (apply power to the drive, and press eject first) the tray will open. Unclip the tray face, and then with the tray open you can unclip the plastic face plate too.
Remove the old drive, and fit the new drive by reversing the removal procedure.
Once everything is assembled you should be able to watch DVD's again. If you can't find a cheap DVD drive locally, try ebay.
I have done this on over 50 players for my clients in the past. I use LG DVD roms and DVD writers for the DVD recorders, irrespective of brand.
