If the batteries are OK, then the shutdown has a simply-cured physical cause. Open the CF card door and look for a small square opening at the bottom of the door. Look inside this and there should be a small plastic 'plate' or flap. DO NOT TRY PUSHING IT WITH A PENCIL OR NEEDLE etc. The bad news is that if you DO see that flap inside the little square opening, then your problem probably lies elsewhere. But if what you see looks like the tip of a pencil, then THAT'S your problem. The flap is there to keep dust out. It's thickness is needed so that closing the door operates the switch. Without it, the door seems to be open and the camera shuts down. If you can find an alternative for that small plate, your problem should be solved. One solution is to attach a small (about 3mm square) piece of foam pad to the tip of the protrusion inside the square. A typical example for this type of foam pad is what scrapbookers fasten photos into their albums. There will be other solutions - but the loss of that flap will be the cause.

SOURCE: Fuji S7000 shuts itself down...without a reason

was using s7000, on the view screen, it looked like a piece of paper kept coming down the screen, the more pic's I took, the lower it came down, finally covering the screen completely. Also the batteries, will not last but maybe 15 minutes.

SOURCE: Need - software for Fuji S7000 Digi camera

You don't need the software. Just use a card reader to download to a folder you create on your desktop.

Fuji digital camera service centre chennai

Are you sure you are using fully loaded battery's, because most camera's will automaticly shut down, when the battery voltage drops under a certain voltage. Sure your battery is still in tip top condition?
Don't use NiCD batteries, only alkaline and Ni-MH rechargable batteries should be used.
Page 15 of the manual shows how you can find out if you are using correct (with enough charge) batteries.

My fuji s7000 zoom has coloured wavey lines when turned on. It goes back to normal intermitantly but at the moment it is constant Ian

Hi Ian.

If the lines are reproduced in the pictures taken, then the image sensor located behind the lens is starting to fail. The problem will usually get progressively worse until you won't be able to shoot regular pictures anymore.

Call Fuji and ask about repair. You can get a quote from a third party here: Repair.

Regards.

My camera only shows half a picture after I take the picture on the little screen and if I keep taking pictures it goes all white? it's not the batteries. thank you

Hello - from a fellow Fuji user.
I'm assuming the pictures are looking OK on the PC when you download. If so this will be a LCD fault.
If NOT and the downloaded pictures are the same on the screen and the PC , then it looks like a sensor problem (CCD chip). I just did a quick search on the google.co.uk site and could only find 4 complaints , so it's pretty rare.
Try re-formatting the SD card just to eliminate that from the equation --

Plus there are S7000 forums to ask like http://forums.techguy.org/digital-photography-imaging/562485-fuji-finepix-s7000-problem.html
Hope this helps , but , if it's a sensor problem I hope it's still under warrantee -- Ray

When i take a picture and down load onto my computer, the picture size is too big on the computer screen.

You can edit picture sizes in various graphics programs, but if you just want to view the full picture on your screen then there are a number of viewers that will automatically size it to fit. The one I like is called FastStone. It is a free program you can download from download.com.

Check to see if the flash has been set to a lower power or underexposes via a +/- setting. If not, warranty repair unless the camera has been damaged.

Camera shuts down when I go to take pic mode

Ahhhhh! I have the same problem occuring!! I cleaned all of the battery terminals and replaced the batteries, and STILL have this problem, although not as frequent. It always happens when I take the best pics, the image shows on the screen for a fraction of a second, and then the whole camera shuts off. Again, I can play back images with no problem. What's the deal here?? It's become so frustrating that I just want to throw the camera in the garbage. It has been such a good camera up until this point. PLEASE, someone help us here!!!
