I'm attempting to burn a video i created on windows movie maker to a DVD+R 4.7 GB/Go, 1-16x disc. I've attempted burning it straight from the option in windows movie maker, and now I just attempted to use...

If the DVD is unreadable by several devices then the DVD disk was burned wrong and is nothing more than you can do.
Assure that you have a region set on your DVD players and a certified DVD playback software on PC. Windows Media Player 10 should be enough if the disk is still unreadable will remain unreadable and ony speciall software with raw access will read it but this is not a solution for you.
I use Nero 7 for burning CDs and DVDs and never had a problem. Maybe when you burned the DVD you set a wrong regional code or you choosed a wrong DVD format that is unknown to your DVD players.

I just burn a writeable cd from my desktop pc using windowa movie maker. I can play it back on my pc no problem but when I insert it into my dvd player it reads no supported files found.windows used high...

Computers use video files such as AVI, WMV, MPG etc.

DVD players use VOB video files, and will not recognise the computer video files.

Unfortunately, Windows Moive Maker cannot create VOB files - you will need another piece of software to convert the WMV file Windows Movie Maker creates to a VOB.

A lot of disc burning programs (e.g. Nero) include video converters. See if you've already got one on you computer.

If not, try Googling 'WMV to VOB'. There's quite a few free ones out there.

Hope this helps,

Matt

I have a daewoo dv6 3000 and it wont play my burn dvd as i use a vcd burn

Hello Babs12555,

The reason it will not play is because a vcd is a (video cd) and your dvd player may not support that format.

The only way to burn a movie is to use a dvd compatible format. Nero has a program called nero vision which is what I personally use to burn dvd's.

The following is a tutorial on how to use Nero Vision to burn dvd's

HELP I made a movie using Windows (Vista) Movie Maker, was able to burn it to a CD-R and it appears to have burned to a DVD-R but it won't play on my DVD - message says: Playback feature not available

Well it looks like you saved it in the wrong format and belave me I done this as well save it as a MPG or AVI and not WMA or WMV your going to need another disc to burn but we all learn from little mistakes I pray it works for you if not you may need to use like NERO instead or ROXIO is good too good luck to you..

Burned DVDs play on PC but won't play on home player. I have 3 PC (2HPs and 1 Parts built),running XP home, pro, media. I bought 2 Samsung SH-S182 DVD±RW Dual Layer Burner, and have tried them on all 3...

Nero 6 and 7 does not provides us the facilitiy of burning the DVD in appropriate DVD Format. Instead it burns the DVD in the normal DATA Format, which is not supportable by our DVD Player. To play the DVD in our DVD Player we should burn the DVD in the appropriate DVD Burner which itself converts the extension of the movie and make it proper for a DVD Player to read it. It also adds some files to the DVD which is sometimes used by the dvd player in running the DVD.

Saving in DVD format

The DVD format is VOB. In the Windows Movie Maker you can save movies as DV-AVI, but in order to burn them onto a DVD disc you should convert them into VOB files using burning software (for example- Nero).
