I am looking for a repair/users manual for a 5000 watt Generac generator. Model # 6247-8. Also need a wiring diagram. I believe it to be a 1978 model, as it is in our 1978 motor home. Serial # 0402867.

I have a 15000 ultrasource generator the start and stop switch was taken out i need to put it back The problem is i dont know which wire goes where and when i look at the wire diagram the numbers are different the numbers on my unit are 15, 11, 133, 14, 12, The 15 and 11 are the same wires the start and stop switch has 6 males on the back to plug the wires into Does anyone know which wire goes where???

probably but it may be a streck 1300 watts may do it but it depends on the draw of the welder and it will be maxed out thats 13 100 watt light bulbs running at the same time use common sence

The original part number your looking for is 78298 (Plastic tank valve). It has been superseded by part number 080270 and it it available here:

I am assuming the generator worked fine before the oil change. Now that you have done the oil change the genset does not start. These generators have a safety switch, which is basically an oil pressure switch that keeps the engine from running when there is not enough oil in the engine. Make sure that there is enough oil and if there is, look for a wire that runs along side of the engine to a round component. disconnect that wire and try starting. If it does not start then try to ground out the wire to the engine block. If this does not work, then there is other engine problems.

well I have a special flasher unit but I believe you can put 12 volts to the brushes while it's running. That should do it.
