Howdy,
If you post the make and model of your stereo, & maybe your truck too, I wll try to help you troubleshoot.
Also, maybe describe what your head unit (stereo) is doing, ie does it seem to have power, is it acting appropriately to the key being off, on & the motor running positions?
No one should be without tunes, I'd like to help.

Probably have two or more wires that need to be connected to another wire, but not enough information to truly diagnose.

if you look really close at the wires they should have some very small writing on them that tell you what they are for.... what is the model of the radio, maybe i can look up a diagram, are these wires from the car, or the radio

  • Tre Elkins Mar 15, 2011

ok try connecting the ant wire to the acc wire, the remote wire is only needed for amp for like subwoofers, dimmer and illumination should be hooked up to a power wire i beleive they are s switched function.

the orange dont need to be connected but the pwr ant wire does, also check that the red and yellow and gnd are attached properly.

Land rover discovery series 2 How do i plug in to the wirinng harnes from a after market stereo to the factory harnest from land rover i cant get sound from the speakers

it is a possibility that it can't be done that way, after market radios usually have to be wired into the wiring harness they don't just plug in for the simple reason vehicle manufacturers want you to use their radios & equipment NOT after market radios etc , you may have to get a auto radio installer to fit it for you otherwise if you don't know what you are doing it could be more costly in the long run......hope this helps......cheers.

I'm trying to connect a sony cdx gt-400 harnes to a 1995 plymouth neon stock harnes but the sony wires aren't labeled

OK, you need to order the wiring harness for this. This will be a harness that plugs into your stock harness. The package that the harness comes in will have the wiring diagram on it. All radio wires are standardized, so it will be easy to hook the sony wires to the wiring harness because they will match. It will only cost a few bucks and will save you from frying your entire electrical system. Hope this helps.

I am attempting to install an after market stereo in my 1997 Lincoln TC. The wiring diagrams I am finding online are not matching the wires (in the dash) from my market stereo? There are two black wires,...

you can go to radio shack or other store and buy a plug adapter for your brand of radio that will match both the radio and the cars wiring so all you have to do is disconnect the factory radio and plug in the adapter to the radio and the original car wiring plug and your set to go without figuring out which wires to connect to and removing the possibility of causing wiring problems with the car

Alarm system stoped working on 87 caddy fleetwood

First question , is it a FACTORY alarm or an AFTER MARKET alarm. Regardless, I haven't met an alarm yet, that protects the radio.. My guess is, that if it is an aft/market alarm, inadvertantly placed the system in the "VALET" where it doesn'i work. Let me know if you disconnected battery, and are there alarm toggle switches.

I am having trouble trying to install a stereo to my 1994 lincoln town car because i dont now the color code to the radio harnes so i can install it

Best thing to do is purchase a Radio Wiring Harness. These can be purchased at a Store like Circuit City, Best Buy, WalMart (not sure of your location) or a 12 Volt Specialty shop.

This harness will connect to your new radio harness and plug directly into the vehicle harness without having to cut wires. The Radio Wiring Harness will come with color identification to match to your radio harness.
